Overall Rating: 10
- Great scenery, excellent course design, nice bar, good food.
- No negatives!
“This place is beautiful. It is a very well-kept course with great scenery. The food inside the gar is also excellent. I am not a member there yet, but I will be soon. I have played all of the courses in the area and for the value and overall golf experience, Timber Lakes is tough to beat.”

Lincoln Theatre

- Historical theatre with exceptional movie, sound and picture.
- May be there is access for handicap that I did not see. Stairs are steep.
“Exciting place to see a movie with your kids. Non-traditional, compared to the Mall, but a cozy feel. Quick concession service and I recommend getting your popcorn prior to going upstairs to the stage. It was a Friday night, kids show, and the place was packed with kids and parents. Belleville parking is very close and felt safe. I never knew the history until I had the chance to go there. The history is well worth your time to read online.”

Lynfred Winery Inc

- Nearby location.
- Value, ambiance.
“We went on a Private Wine Tour and Tasting. I treated a bunch of my girlfriends to an afternoon out. We were a little disappointed in the setting. Lynfred Wineries is located right next to a Starbucks, strip mall and residential housing. It didn't feel like much of an escape, but after a few glasses of wine, nobody seemed to notice. The private tasting was nice and not rushed. The tour guide was like-able and knowledgeable. However, we just ping-ponged between a hallway, a tasting room and the distillery. It was not much of a tour. After the tour, we bought a few bottles of wine (that they would not let us open and pour at the location) and purchased a few glasses of wine to take out to the Gazebo. We lingered for another hour and a half. The wine was good. I am not an expert at wines. I enjoy a good glass and was able to find that in the Lynfred Merlot. Overall, the tour and the tasting are not the big draw. It's the people you share the experience with that make it a fun experience.”

Hide-A-Way Lake Campground

- Driving away from the camp grounds to go home.
- Everything up until we were driving away from the camp grounds to go home.
“This place was an absolute nightmare! The so called pool was so unsanitary, I wouldn't let my dog near it, much less my children! It was a run-down mess. Unfortunately, I did not think to read reviews before I visited this camp site and so wish I had.”

- Everything you could ever ask for from a fire barn museum.
- Visitors cant use the pole.
“I visited the Fire Barn in 2001 and I have to say it was nothing short of fantastic, should I ever return to Elgin a visit to fire Barn no5 will be at the top of my 'to do' list. The only complaint I have is that I wasn't allowed to go on the pole.”
