East Brighton Golf Club
Nov 13, 2009 by

Overall Rating: 10
- Very fair course - suitable for all.
- Can't think of anything!
“East Brighton is a fantastic Downland course - it takes a lot to beat this course for quality of the course and value for money. The greens are always in great condition, even in the winter when other local courses can sometimes have winter greens and tee in use. The Clubhouse has a lot of history and you will be made very welcome. Well worth a visit - highly recommended.”

- The beautiful location.
- Fairways were a bit wet, but it had been raining a lot.
“What a wonderful place! I'm glad I didn't travel 1,000 miles to get there, but I was in Lochaber and heard it was good. For a West Coast golf course, the 9 holes played well. My wife and I were awed by the setting and took so many pictures. A nice little club house, too and amazing! They even had free Wi-Fi, pretty switched-on folk, and I wish them well.”

- I have to get 2 buses.
“Place to be! Many things going on there! Helped my loads. Not just an ordinary theatre tell you that!”

- Open space.
- Lacking in any sort of atmosphere.
“Very disappointing. Limited bar/restaurants available, place has a somewhat run down atmosphere What happened to the shopping center? Can hardly call Tesco Express a shopping center!”

Swaffham Golf Club

- Fantastic greens.
- Poor bunkers.
“In one word - Fabulous! A fantastic challenge for players of all levels. Set in wonderful Norfolk countryside this course stretches over 6500 yards (off the back tees) and tests every aspect of your game. From choosing the correct club off the tee to reading some truly deceptive greens, this course is a joy. From the opening par 5 where you must play down the left to avoid being blocked out by the trees on the right to the long 18th where a par will feel like a birdie, you will love the variety this course has to offer. The course is immaculately maintained and the greens are in terrific condition, even if they can make you look very foolish, all credit to the green-keeping staff. One minor criticism would be that the bunkers are not the best and are inconsistent with the quantity of sand and the cut at the back. I was made to feel very welcome and can't wait to return.”
