Sam Lord's Castle and Resort
Jul 18, 2006 by Keith from Chicago
Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • None.
  • It is closed.

“The castle appears to have suffered a fire a few years back. Although all the local maps list it as an attraction, it was closed. The tennis courts were covered with mud and the sign out from is dilapidated. It was a nice resort, but is no longer worth the drive. It is a short hop from the Crane Hotel, but there is nothing there!”

Accra Beach
Jul 30, 2005 by tony whelan from tipperary, ireland
Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • as a keen swimmer i loved the warm tropical water
  • having to get on the plane and leave.

“i was lucky enough to visit the beautiful island of barbados in 2001. my partner and i and our 2 children stayed at accra beach hotel and had the holiday of a lifetime. we also got married on the beachfront [thanks to cherie and fr. marcus lashley] so had our honeymoon there too.the hotel was situated on a lovely beach, but for those who dont like to wander too far the poolside was very nice with helpful staff and relaxing atmosphere.it is sort of midway between the capital bridgetown and the very lively st. lawerence gap.the scenery was beautiful and the weather was only gorgeous, but most of all the local people were very friendly. if you took time to talk to somebody you would find them very helpful and only too happy to help you. there was a taxi firm beside the hotel but a great way to see real bajan life is to hop on one of the buses that regularly pass on most roads. you cant miss them as they honk their horns constantly and blast out the local music from the stereos. i have been to other countries before and after our trip to barbados, but i have never had a holiday like this one. and hopefully someday i will return. thanks to all the accra beach staff for making us feel so welcome and our stay so nice.”
