Admiral Yi Sun Shin Statue
Dec 29, 2004 by Sox H . from Yonkers, NY
Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[10]

  • Big. Imposing. Impressive.
  • Little scary to kids.

“Yi Sub Shin, the "thinking general" who became famous for his smart tactics and the 'turtle' armored battleships during the war with the Japanese invaders, is one of the heroes of my childhood when I was growing up in Korea. This statue is almost as big as the general's legend. It's become one of the best known landmarks in the streets of Seoul. If you're in downtown Seoul, walk over to Jongno and take a snap shot or two.”

Free performances at Sejong Cultural Center
Dec 29, 2004 by Sox H . from Yonkers, NY
Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[8] • Location:[10]

  • Great location. Prestige.
  • Smog-filled Seoul streets.

“When I was living in Seoul, this was "the" cultural performance center. Before Sejong Center, the city of Seoul didn't really have a prominent art and cultural center. It was a great place to welcome many cultural performances and exhibitions both domestic and foreign right to the heart of the city. As matter of fact, the very first show I caught at Sejong was The Village People's concert. I've also seen few operas and traditional dance exhibitions there. It's a great place to visit. All except when you come out of the hall, you are facing the busiest, noisiest streets in all of Korea.”
