Calandrias (Las)
Aug 22, 2008 by

from TX & Mexico
Overall Rating: 8
- The driver (and horse) threaded the traffic well.
- NA.
“The Calandrias is near the cathedral - behind the Rotunda north of the cathedral. We got an hour trip through some nice areas of the city, including the Ex-Convent del Carmen, the University of Guad, Revolution Park and the Templo Expiatorio. The driver, in Spanish, pointed out places of interest - even to non-Spanish speaking gringos. Even as area residents for over 3 years, we saw places we had never seen. The mansions in Colonia America were exceptional. It will be part of our standard tour for visitors.”

“Beautiful little chapel, very picturesque with the surrounding trees. My boyfriend took me here when we went to visit his family. Now I dream of us being married here someday.”

- Where else can you sail on an authentic ship from the 1800s. Great fun!
- Cruise had to end.
“Absolute ball! Outstanding time and fun onboard this actual century-plus old ship. Very friendly staff! Excellent experience. Very highly recommend it!”

Necri

- Selection, shipping/crating offered on all pieces, very customer oriented.
- Could not say anything negative.
“The store is fabulous! The pottery that is offered is unlike what you see through most of Mexico. After a while you just get tired of seeing the same old thing, go to Necrotic, you are bound to find something different. The owner is the nicest; he kept the guys busy with tequila while we ladies shopped. I am sure this is his M.O. but that's okay, we were going to spend anyway and at least the guys were satisfied. He also makes terrific hot sauces and sells them there as well. It was one of our favorite's stops while in San Jose Del Cab.”

Malecon (El)
Aug 1, 2006 by
Thomas
from fairbanks
Overall Rating: 10
- Sunsets and sculptures are not to be missed.
- Weekend nights can be crowded.
“The Male con is the centerpiece of the city. Lined with whimsical sculpture, the wide promenade is a Mecca for tourists and local Mexican families. Entertainers frequently appear curbside and at the adjacent cathedral square. All-in-all, the Male con is THE place to see and be seen in PV.”
