• Length, location, course design.

“This mom-and-pop golf course is off the beaten path, is very short (less than 5500 yards from the tips), offers a odd mixture of hole configurations, and the grass in the rough could use some help. So why did I rate it as highly as I did? Because the greens, though small, were in great shape. And particularly because of the hospitality: I was treated like family during a small-town scramble benefiting a local police organization.”
