Glenbrook Golf Course

  • Challenging layout.
  • Bad food, dirty grill area, dirty bathrooms. The whole building is a pig sty.

Sam Houston Race Park
Jul 3, 2007 by Cathi from Houston

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Betting windows and machines.
  • Valet parking is a long way from the seating areas!

“Great venue for horse racing as well as other events. Do wish that children were not allowed at the races. I love children, but some places are not appropriate for kids. The food served in the main dining areas and the clubhouse menu is really quite good, although service is slow during peek times. I do love the horses, so I'm a big fan of Sam Houston Race Park! Glad, the owners come up with ways to bring in revenue during the off season so they can afford to keep the track, the facilities so nice.”

Delmar Lanes
Jun 26, 2007 by Michael from Houston

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Well maintained, quality lanes.
  • Small house.

“Del-mar has undergone a recent renovation. The run down little house has re-emerged as a well appointed family bowling center. With all new top of the line Brunswick pro Avalon lanes, and Brunswick furniture, the place is a pleasure to bowl. The parking lot has had a major renovation, as well as the outside of the building. Ex-pro carol Norman has her pro-shop in del-mar, and you'll find none better at fitting and drilling bowling balls than carol. If you haven't been there for awhile, I suggest you stop by and bowl a couple of lines. You won't be disappointed.”

Six Flags Astroworld
Jun 21, 2007 by Keith from Baytown, Texas

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • No more lines?
  • Nearest park is san Antonio.

“It's great. If you like a field of knee deep weeds, because Houston, one of the largest cities in the united states, no longer has a major amusement park! Sold for real estate development. Well, that's progress. Guess we'll take the grandchildren to the horse racing track instead. They'll really be thrilled with that. Unbelievable. An area with over four million people and you'd think there would be enough interest to support an amusement park. Aw what the heck, forget the kids, let's make money and sell condos.”

Edwards Theater Greenway Place 24
Jul 8, 2006 by Ronald from Houston

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5

  • Very big Screen and clean theater.
  • People less than friendly.

“Bought tickets on line easy enough reception at the ticket booth was less than warm. Did not print tickets on my home computer the seemed to upset the lady. The seats were packed and sitting on the front row looking up for two hours was bad on the neck. The general location and area was very clean. We were able to park on the same floor as the entrance and go straight to and from the movie with no problem.”

Jun 5, 2006 by Summer Flowers from Grand Cayman Cayman Islands

  • Everyone had a smiling face and I had a great time.
  • It is an all day thing so you need to go in the morning and stay till closing if you want to have the full experience.

“Six Flags Afterworld is a fun park. The rides are not as good as the ones at fiesta Texas but overall there pretty good and the people are always friendly. ”

Water Wall
May 27, 2006 by Laura from Baytown TX

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • The area is very clean and well kept.
  • The people selling odd commodities (i.e. pictures and selling tacky roses that light up) really bother people and take away from the experience.

“When I was 2 my grandfather was diagnosed with terminal leukemia. Everyday of his stay at M.D. Anderson my grandmother and my mother would take me to the water wall on the way home and we would play in the mist as it rose above us. One day in June my mother and my grandmother took me back to the wall of water and explained to me that we wouldn't be coming anymore. My grandfather had died. For 13 years I never went back to the wall. I missed it and I would dream of it, seeing my grandfather's face rise in the mist above me, rainbows shimmering in the sunshine. I had decided I would be married there. I had it all planned out. The night that I went back I experienced the same beautiful melancholy and thrill at the sheer awe of the place. As the water rushed down around me I stood looking at the swirling sparkles of the water droplets and I saw his face. It is my favorite place in the entire world. Everyone should visit it at least once. I assure you it will be an experience not soon forgotten. ”
