Hidden Valley Rv Resort
Oct 22, 2009 by John from Lake Geneva

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Clean, modern bathrooms, public laundry, friendly campers and staff.
  • Site size, cost.

“Hidden Valley is an excellent campground. It is one of the cleanest I have been too. I was there during one of their busiest weekends and that is when a campground can prove if they are on top of things. The bathrooms where spotless the whole weekend. The sites are on the smaller side compared to some campgrounds. You can also check in without getting out of your vehicle, a big plus to me. Someone complained about having to pay for your stay when you arrive, I don't feel that is a problem. The rates are slightly higher than some campgrounds, but you also get nicer bathrooms and it is kept up well. I gave it a 8 because of the price being high and the size of the sites.”

Noahs Ark

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Everything!
  • Charging for tube rental at wave pools!

“This is the best water park ever! The price to get in is fair, there is no fee for parking and if you get there when it opens you can get on all the rides with hardly any wait at all. Very clean and well kept and also very kid friendly. They also have a very good variety of different slides and attractions some even dry. Best ever, highly recommend!”

Buffalo Bay Campground Marina
Jul 27, 2009 by Carol from Appleton

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7

  • On the waterfront of Lake Superior, water views, marina.
  • Dirty bathrooms, poor access route to bathrooms.

“Got site 12, it is one of the best in the campground. Most all have wonderful views of the Apostle Islands. We were overlooking the water with the lake at the foot of our campsite. It was absolutely beautiful. Reasonably priced and most sites fairly level. Biggest drawback is the shower house is in major need of renovation and repair. Showers free and hot but bathrooms constantly dirty with mud and straw because the only way to access the bathroom is by walking over/through the newly dug/finished leech field/sewer field covered with clay and straw. This has been written up on other sites and reviews and apparently was finished months ago but still left with lots of mud if wet and not grass covered. Also no improvements have occurred to bathrooms either. Otherwise it was great stay.”

Lakeland Camping Resort
Jul 6, 2009 by Dan from Winthrop Harbor

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • It was a nice place.
  • The bathrooms were awful.

“The campground was decent, however, the bathrooms were horrible. There were bugs all over the sinks at night when brushing your teeth. I have been to other campgrounds and this was the worst for bathrooms. Also, the showers you don't control the water temp, and you have to keep pushing the knob to run the water. The men's room all the toilets were clogged.”

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2

  • Used to be nice here.
  • Bad attitude by management.

“This campground has very well sent the campers away with the attitude of the management. The manager know nothing about weekend or seasonal camping needs. Imagine you need your waste tank is full on a Sunday morning. At this campground, thats your problem. No dumps. So no toilet use.”

Spring Brook
Feb 12, 2009 by J from Chicago

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Amenities are great and bar is fun.
  • No water park built into the resort, this might be a positive for some though.

“We've been going to Springbrook for the past 8 years. The community has improved tremendously over the past 4 years, with the addition of great pools, a fun bar/lodge, a great restaurant and a decent 9 hole golf course. We love staying at Sprinbrook. We usually vacation with other families or couples and share a home. It's more fun from staying at the hotels or water parks. It's also a lot more space. The bar is fun too, with Karaoke every Saturday night. I also usually bring my road bike up with me as well, as there are countless miles of county roads to ride on with little to no traffic. The golf course is decent. The fairways are narrow, and if you're in the rough, your ball is usually swallowed up by the woods, but most of the holes are pretty easy (i.e. not a lot of dog legs or hazards). It's a good beginner-intermediate course. We typically head up twice a year, once in the summer and once in the winter. Cascade and Devil's Head are two ski resorts about 20 minutes away. So we'll ski in the winter. There are a lot of snowmobiler around too, but we haven't tried that yet, although there are trails leading right up to the resort. All in all, if you're going to go to the Dells, stay here. It's a gem.”

Appleton Medical Center Inc
Feb 4, 2009 by Donnalee from Appleton, WI

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Overall care and appearance of staff and facility.
  • Food system needs to be changed.

“I have always been 100% satisfied with all medical services at AMC. I've had two major surgeries within the past nine months and felt I the place was comfortable, clean the staff great. However, I still feel you would go to a similar meal program as St. Elizabeth's Hospital has. I think your choices of foods are very limited for anyone who is a patient more than a few days. I also feel the food could be prepared more tastefully. The last stay I had, your presentation had improved but not the choices. It is still the same. Even with my feelings in regards to the food, I still feel AMC is tops.”

  • No stadium seating.

“I love this theater. The other reviews must be old. It has digital sound the staff always seem friendly. They have ushers in the theaters on nights when kids are there. My experience has always been positive. It is a gem of a theater. If you go down the road to showboat you never know what kind of service and if the movie will run. Give this theater a try you won't be disappointed. Great family theater specials on Saturday plus you get unlimited popcorn and soda refills!”

Castle Lanes Of Southeastern Wisconsin Inc
Jan 19, 2009 by Laura from Racine

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Everything.
  • Smoking allowed - but only in the bar! (No smoking would be better).

“This is an EXCELLENT bowling alley. We go here with our 4 year old and the staff is always so helpful and cheerful. They have speakers at each lane that you can hook your MP3 player up to so you can listen to your own music, large flat screens you can turn to whatever channel you want (we choose cartoons!), and cute images that are different each time you bowl showing how many pins you got. It is non-smoking near the lanes, and smoking only in the bar area (which is REALLY nice- very large and beautiful.) Oh and the ambiance is great, too. It looks like an upscale lodge. I'd give it a 10 if there was no smoking throughout. I even took my youth group from church there, everyone had a great time.”

Hawks View Golf Club LLC
Sep 12, 2008 by Jorie from IL

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7

  • Location, scenery, convenience (you can have your wedding ceremony & reception at the same place, immediately following).
  • Terrible wedding coordinator. Mediocre food.

“Good points: The outside area for ceremony and cocktail hour is gorgeous. The gardens and scenery made beautiful wedding pictures. The reception hall is very nice as well, with vaulted oak ceilings and twinkle lights. We had cocktail hour outside in the covered pavilion area, which was lovely and relaxing. The receiving line went through the garden, which was also very nice. Pricing was fairly reasonable. Bad points: Their wedding coordinator is useless. She would never return my calls, and was snotty to me several times when I asked her simple questions. On the day of the ceremony, she was nowhere to be found most of the time. When things went wrong, people were coming to me to try and fix them because no one could find the coordinator, and this added a lot of stress to the day. The wedding coordinator was the worst part of my experience at Hawk's View. She ended up leaving around 10:00 pm, and a man took over (I can't remember his name).”

Falls Cinema I & II
Jul 22, 2008 by Zachary Taylor from Black River Falls, WI

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • They serve pizza and burgers and other good food as if it were a normal restaurant in the theaters.
  • They do not have state of the art projection equipment.

“They get good movies and some not so great movies. They get some new movies when they first come out and if they did not get them then, then they will probably get the movie about a 3 weeks after the came out or a month after. The cool thing about the Falls Cinema is that they serve fresh made pizzas and burgers in the movies. How they do it is that they have the people working at the concessions take orders at the start of the movies if they want to order any thing. I think that it is worth the money to go see a movie there at the Falls Cinema in downtown Black river Falls, WI.”

I found the service to be friendly, but maybe a little inexperienced, but I'm sure will improve. Bar area was cluttered by remodeling stuff which in a return trip hadn't moved any. Should clean up bar. Atmosphere is friendly. I will return.”

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • I love that those buildings are still standing, and we can learn about it.
  • Absolutely nothing, besides it was very cold.

“I took a field trip to the state park for my nephew with his class and I must say that it was very interesting and I think it is just great that people are able to reach kids and teach them the way things use to be and how hard it was back in that day and age. All of the kids loved it, I will be finding some pictures that I took at this place and be putting them on the net so more viewers will go and visit. I have to say that the best part for the kids was making butter out of cream! They loved it and they get to eat it with crackers. But we did go when it was very cold so if you do bring mittens jackets and hats! The people who do the tours wear what people back in that day wore. It was very neat! If you have never been there I say to stop by and learn about the way things were.”

Sky View Drive In Theatre

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Everything about it!
  • No more truck-load prices.

“We look forward to summer because it means nights spent at Sky-Vu Drive In. The pizza is great and so is the atmosphere. I suggest you get there when the gates open, because there's nothing like being in the front row and playing Frisbee and catch during intermission. I give it a 9 instead of a 10 because they used to have vehicle prices, instead of per person admissions. It was cheaper to bring a van or truck full of people, but you still can't complain about the prices. It's still cheaper than going to the movie theater, and you get to see two new releases for less than the cost of one! I highly recommend bringing the family and step back in time and make some memories!”

Hidden Valley Rv Resort
Jun 20, 2007 by Craig from Racine

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Restrooms were very clean and air conditioned.

“We just completed an extended stay and found the experience to be a good one. Don't know what carol from Illinois is talking about, all roads are 1 way and several times seasonal campers and staff stopped vehicles to inform them they were going the wrong way. Don't know how someone is capable of not finding the pool unless they are directionally challenged (its right behind the office). Evenings were quiet; grounds were clean and well kept. We stayed in the newer area where the sites are at about a 45 degree angle to each other. This angling effect seems to give you more space since you're not directly in line with your neighbor. All in all a very pleasant weekend.”

Plymouth Rock Camping Resort Inc
May 21, 2007 by Pat from Wisconsin

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5

“What a shame? A once fabulously fun place to take your whole family has turned into a terrible misrepresentation of its former glory. Clearly no one has told the public that the campground has been over run with golf carts, which have almost become a necessity because of the ridiculous amount of growth for the seasonal campers. A place that once upon a time had hourly activities to keep the children and family entertained ranging from kickball to volleyball to special themed activities that matched the weekends theme to a band/dj every Saturday that entertained both adult and children to a place that offered such rousing activities as quilting and an ice cream social (bring your own spoon, bowl and toppings) and bingo at 630pm on a Friday when most of the campers (weekend or seasonal) are just arriving as the only activities for an entire weekend. The grounds look tired and shabby, which is probably because of the rampant speed of expansion. They don't even have arts & crafts for the little ones anymore. Who cared that the crafts cost a dollar and were ultimately useless, it was a fun activity that parent and child could do together. I spent a ridiculous amount of time at Plymouth rock growing up, so much you might call it my home, but I don't think I'll ever go back.”

  • They provided trash bags, and the property itself was neatly maintained.

“We just stayed at this campground the end of April. And they are absolutely all about making money. Even the showers! They have automatic motion activated sensors that turn off while showering and small children aren't tall enough to activate it so you have to stand there and wave your hand to keep the water running. I was barely tall enough at 5'2, for as much money as we spent to stay there and you cant even get a decent shower! I was so angry at the end of trying to bathe myself and my kids that I considered leaving the resort. They also require you to pay when you check in rather than when you check out. We left days earlier because of that and the awful showers!”

  • The landscape.
  • Everything else.

“This used to be a great place. Now it's too crowded, you're lucky if you can get to the pool. Roads are not paved, does damage to truck, no one enforces rules, and everyone drives in any direction they want to. The location is beautiful, but you're on top of everyone else. The owner¿s main goal is no longer providing quality places to camp but making money. They've increased the size of the clubhouse so they could sell more merchandise, however have not increased the size of pool or size of sites in which to camp. The cabins have no kitchen, no water, just bunk beds and a plastic outdoor table in which to dine on. My opinion.”
