Heritage Hill State Park
Sep 11, 2007 by Missy from Manitowoc

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • I love that those buildings are still standing, and we can learn about it.
  • Absolutely nothing, besides it was very cold.

“I took a field trip to the state park for my nephew with his class and I must say that it was very interesting and I think it is just great that people are able to reach kids and teach them the way things use to be and how hard it was back in that day and age. All of the kids loved it, I will be finding some pictures that I took at this place and be putting them on the net so more viewers will go and visit. I have to say that the best part for the kids was making butter out of cream! They loved it and they get to eat it with crackers. But we did go when it was very cold so if you do bring mittens jackets and hats! The people who do the tours wear what people back in that day wore. It was very neat! If you have never been there I say to stop by and learn about the way things were.”

Sky View Drive In Theatre
Jul 13, 2007 by Nikki from Beloit

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Everything about it!
  • No more truck-load prices.

“We look forward to summer because it means nights spent at Sky-Vu Drive In. The pizza is great and so is the atmosphere. I suggest you get there when the gates open, because there's nothing like being in the front row and playing Frisbee and catch during intermission. I give it a 9 instead of a 10 because they used to have vehicle prices, instead of per person admissions. It was cheaper to bring a van or truck full of people, but you still can't complain about the prices. It's still cheaper than going to the movie theater, and you get to see two new releases for less than the cost of one! I highly recommend bringing the family and step back in time and make some memories!”

Hidden Valley Rv Resort
Jun 20, 2007 by Craig from Racine

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Restrooms were very clean and air conditioned.

“We just completed an extended stay and found the experience to be a good one. Don't know what carol from Illinois is talking about, all roads are 1 way and several times seasonal campers and staff stopped vehicles to inform them they were going the wrong way. Don't know how someone is capable of not finding the pool unless they are directionally challenged (its right behind the office). Evenings were quiet; grounds were clean and well kept. We stayed in the newer area where the sites are at about a 45 degree angle to each other. This angling effect seems to give you more space since you're not directly in line with your neighbor. All in all a very pleasant weekend.”

Plymouth Rock Camping Resort Inc
May 21, 2007 by Pat from Wisconsin

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5

“What a shame? A once fabulously fun place to take your whole family has turned into a terrible misrepresentation of its former glory. Clearly no one has told the public that the campground has been over run with golf carts, which have almost become a necessity because of the ridiculous amount of growth for the seasonal campers. A place that once upon a time had hourly activities to keep the children and family entertained ranging from kickball to volleyball to special themed activities that matched the weekends theme to a band/dj every Saturday that entertained both adult and children to a place that offered such rousing activities as quilting and an ice cream social (bring your own spoon, bowl and toppings) and bingo at 630pm on a Friday when most of the campers (weekend or seasonal) are just arriving as the only activities for an entire weekend. The grounds look tired and shabby, which is probably because of the rampant speed of expansion. They don't even have arts & crafts for the little ones anymore. Who cared that the crafts cost a dollar and were ultimately useless, it was a fun activity that parent and child could do together. I spent a ridiculous amount of time at Plymouth rock growing up, so much you might call it my home, but I don't think I'll ever go back.”

Hidden Valley Rv Resort
May 7, 2007 by Shannon from Colorado Springs

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4

  • They provided trash bags, and the property itself was neatly maintained.

“We just stayed at this campground the end of April. And they are absolutely all about making money. Even the showers! They have automatic motion activated sensors that turn off while showering and small children aren't tall enough to activate it so you have to stand there and wave your hand to keep the water running. I was barely tall enough at 5'2, for as much money as we spent to stay there and you cant even get a decent shower! I was so angry at the end of trying to bathe myself and my kids that I considered leaving the resort. They also require you to pay when you check in rather than when you check out. We left days earlier because of that and the awful showers!”

Betty Brinn Childrens Museum Inc
Apr 22, 2007 by Bill from Milwaukee

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Kept the kids totally engaged, they would have stayed all day.
  • Too much to do, too little time. We'll have to go back. A small thing. They could use more places for us parents to sit down while the kids are playing.

Hidden Valley Rv Resort
Mar 29, 2007 by carol from illinois

Overall Rating: 6 User Rating Score: 6

  • The landscape.
  • Everything else.

“This used to be a great place. Now it's too crowded, you're lucky if you can get to the pool. Roads are not paved, does damage to truck, no one enforces rules, and everyone drives in any direction they want to. The location is beautiful, but you're on top of everyone else. The owner¿s main goal is no longer providing quality places to camp but making money. They've increased the size of the clubhouse so they could sell more merchandise, however have not increased the size of pool or size of sites in which to camp. The cabins have no kitchen, no water, just bunk beds and a plastic outdoor table in which to dine on. My opinion.”

Moor Downs Golf Course
Mar 24, 2007 by Scott from Bell

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • It made my scorecard look like tigers.
  • It was a horrible waste of my afternoon.

“Moor downs in a blandish executive course with little challenge found on any of its nine holes. For a price of 15$ for a walking 9 hole rate this course could be considered a rip-off. I advise anyone even thinking of playing here to turn and head home instantly. Besides the horrible play the scenery and overall experience on the course is horrific.”

Plaza Theatre
Mar 2, 2007 by Random person from Burlington

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • Clean bathrooms.
  • Customers.

“The theatre is a nice little one and good for a small get together with some friends. Another plus is the clean bathrooms and the good tasty food, but in the winter it's really cold in one of the rooms where they play the movies. Also, sometimes the workers are a little slow and other times the other customers are a real pain in the but. I remember once when I went to go see a movie with my. Friend and we were going to see "happily never after" but there were a bunch of loud, obnoxious, un- behaved kids that were throwing popcorn around and jumping over the seats. We went to go see a different movie, but kids kept walking in and out of their movie doing god knows what. But whatever. Lastly, I think the prices are too high, that's why I never buy popcorn or soda anymore because I¿m not going to spend over $10 just to see a movie. The tickets are a little over $6 and the popcorn is around $3 and then the soda is no more than $3. So yeah. PHS. I forgot that whenever I go to see a movie, something always happens to it. Either the sound will stop for a while, or the picture will be half-way up the screen. This theatre defiantly needs to be updated...”

Plaza Theatre

  • Nice people.
  • Old needs to be updated.

“The plaza theatre is a little town theatre that is not bad for the town. If you travel 10 miles away there is a showboat theatre that is more updated and a lot bigger and better. It would be nice if they updated the theatre a little.”

Bonanza Campground Inc
Aug 22, 2006 by Paul from Green Bay

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2

  • Not much other than their good location on the strip.
  • Camp sites are right on top of each other, very little wooded area, horrible service.

“We arrived and were stuck between two seasonal campers, not bad except we were camping in one of their yards. When we got there there was a truck from one of the seasonal's in our site, his water and electric were also hooked up to our water and electric. We had to have the gentleman, who thankfully was nicer than the staff there, move his truck and disconnect the electric and water from our site. Our fire pit was located 2 feet from the fence, wood fence mind you, that surrounded our site; not exactly the safest spot for it. In general all the sites in this campground are right on top of each other, causing trailers with slide out's to be within feet, if not inches, of each other. When talking to the staff about the unsatisfactory "site" we were placed in they were very rude and insisted that we had no merit for our claims. I would never recommend this campground to anyone under any circumstances. ”

Lake Joy Camp Ground
Jun 27, 2006 by Mark

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • FRIENDLY! Clean, Family-Oriented, Lots Of Activities, Caters To Everyone Quickly And Efficiently, Nearby To Hotspot Attractions, Relaxing, Scenic And Orderly
  • No Sewage Hookup, No Restaurant, Doesn't Allow Outboard Motors on Boats, No Fireworks Show, No Golf-Cart Rentals, No Movie Showings

“I had a very wonderful time at Lake Joy - we visited on the Fourth of July and all was superb!!! They had plenty to do - between after dark hayrides, a DJ Dance, candy bar bingo, volleyball tournaments, kid's crafts - free rentals of basketballs, footballs, bean bags, horseshoes, volleyballs, tether balls, and more - plus normal rentals such as pedal boats, fun bugs, row boats, canoes, kayaks, motor boats, and pontoons. They also have several playgrounds, two lovely newly sanded beaches, basketball court, volleyball court, and horseshoe pits, a little beachfront shop with slushies, pizza and hot sandwiches, an arcade with your essentials - ping pong, air hockey, pool and foosball plus some others, two shower houses, bathrooms and a laundry room and a nice little store with candy, ice cream, firewood, bait, and drinks. All in all it was a fun and relaxing environment, it is run by a family - and therefore caters to your family, and it will definitely become a family favorite vacation for my children, wife and I. I definitely recommend you give them a try! Oh and the fishing is really great too!”

International Clown Hall Of Fame Museum & Reseach Center Inc
May 23, 2006 by Charlene from Tacoma, Washington

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Nothing.
  • N/A

“I have not actually visited the International Clown Hall of Fame Museum nor would I ever consider doing so now after the way I have been treated. I purchased a brick for my father to be displayed on the Clown Wall of Fame in 1991. When sending an inquiry to them in regards to this I received no response. I sent four emails, 1 fax and two hard copy letters. I made several phone calls only to hear that they were unavailable and their mailbox was full so I could not leave a message. I sent a registered letter, which was signed for but never responded to. I contacted the Better Business Bureau who investigated my complaint for one month then closed the case. What started as a very simple inquiry has become a nightmare for me. ”

Dane County Regional Airport
Mar 23, 2006 by Scott from Watertown

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Friendly airline staff and great looking, newly, renovated facilities.
  • No viewing deck for non travelers to watch airport activities and aircraft.

“The newly renovated Dane County Regional Airport is sure to please any traveler. The spacious and luxurious lobbies are modern yet stylish, patterned after Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural designs. New full service restaurants serve a little taste of Madison, while quick serve vendors include Quiznoas subs and Unoas pizza. Due to increased airline competition, airfare prices out of Madison are comparable to and often less expensive than Milwaukee, WI and Chicago, IL. Adding in the cost, time and hassle of driving to the bigger airports, Madison can be a great bargain. The airline staff in Madison can also help make travel enjoyable, with a more personable feel than larger airports. Travel plans that include any kind of connection through a major airline hub are easier to start in a regional airport.”
