Pine Village Koa Campground
Sep 15, 2009 by Teri from Sumner

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2

  • The river was close.
  • No real customer service - we were just dollar signs.

“Very tightly spaced. Smelled of sewage. When I called 2 months prior to our trip to make reservations, I explained I wanted to set up a tent and have my tent trailer. I set up my reservation and got a site number. When I called 2 weeks in advance (no confirmations of any kind) I had the same site number. When we arrived, we had a different (worse) site (no tent set up). We decided to move - they downgraded us to a horrible site without refunding any money, we had no table or grill and were looking at the back of other motor homes and their sewage lines. I will not recommend KOA to others for these reasons.”

Pine Village Koa Campground

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • Nice river access.
  • Congested RV sites/sewage odor.

“In our motor home travels a few years back (Montana, So Dakota) we stayed at a few KOA Campgrounds and were very disappointed with the price vs. the amenities. (Some had not amenities at all!) We stopped our stays with KOA and mainly stayed at private Good Sam parks, which we found more pleasant, spacious stays. We decided to try KOA for our special trip to Leavenworth and, again, were very disappointed. When we arrived, we found the park to be very tightly spaced and very congested. In our Space 44, we were sitting on top of our neighbor's sewage hook up and across from the RV dumping site. We had sewage odors our entire stay, which was not pleasant! We had a fire pit, but afraid to have a fire for fear our neighbors RV siding might melt from the heat. It was that close! The park is just too tightly designed and too high priced for us to ever return - and we have stayed in a lot of parks in our 30+ years of RV'ing. On the positive side, we did enjoy the beautiful river access and swimming there. The pool was too small to accommodate the amount of people there. Kids. noise, etc. Yes, our precious free time means a lot to us and we do have choices at where we spend it and we want you to know how disappointing and over priced our stay at your KOA was.”

  • Affordability.
  • Mean forest ranger lady and how dumpy so many sites were.

“As an association, you would think that there would be a requirement to keep your lot looking clean - We spent 1/2 day looking at the lots for sale - Could not get over how horrible looking so many of the lots looked - There was some nice ones - Not too many with privacy, which is what we were looking for - The forest ranger looking lady, I believe, over re-acted when I accidentally drove down the new one way gravel road by the pools - She kept yelling at me in a loud voice even after I told her she did not need to yell and it was an accident - Than seemed to make her madder - I will not return to the park or consider buying in.”

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • It was clean and the people were friendly.
  • We didn't know it was league night and had to wait 30 minutes to get a lane.

“Fun for the kids. The cosmic bowling is very cool, dance lights and music they love it. Great for birthday parties and they have a good menu with lots of options. I have to say the prices were really reasonable, even the drinks! The adults kept bowling and the kids went in the arcade that was in the same building and with camera surveillance with TVs to watch their kids while they played.”

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • Great challenging layout, well maintained.
  • Very rude staff that drive away business.

“This is one of the best courses in Spokane as far as a challenge and layout. The problem is many of the staff in the pro shop are down right rude and very unpleasant to deal with. The treatment once you get to the pro shop isn't much better. Many of the other people I play with feel the same way. Fire the staff and start over please!”

Columbia Cinema Theatre
Apr 4, 2009 by Dave Pruitt from Wenatchee

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • NA.
  • Uncomfortable, small, rude, expensive, poor sound dampening and no cards accepted.

“I've been to a lot of theaters, and this one is in my bottom 3. I should also include that I've been to a lot of theaters in countries that people couldn't imagine. This one had uncomfortable seats, I could hear the movie next door booming through the walls, the ambient lights stayed on during the whole movie, the screen was half the size of a normal theater, and it cost me almost $10 for a movie ticket. Also, they do not sell any decent coffee drinks, but berate you if you bring one in. To top it all off, they do not accept cards of any kind. This is 2009. Overall, this was a very negative experience. A new cineplex is in the works as we speak, and hopefully soon this little greedy monopoly will go the way to the telegraph machine and the pet rock.”

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Well maintained greens and fairways, courteous staff and quick pace of play.
  • None!

“9 hole municipal course operated by the City of Yakima. Built in 1960, this course is known for a great place to hone in on your short game and/or take people new to the game of golf. The course is very well maintained and the greens are one of the best in the area. Great staff and definitely a place you would want to visit if you are in town and are looking for a quick 9 holes. • The Asian collection is impressive.

Pine Village Koa Campground
Aug 29, 2008 by Cindy from Puyallup

Overall Rating: 6 User Rating Score: 6

  • Lots of things for the kids to do, close to Leavenworth.
  • Stolen shoes!

“We stayed in the 2 room cabins, which were clean. The morning staff is friendly and helpful, however the evening staff seemed to be there to have a body behind the counter. Not very friendly or helpful. However, we did enjoy our stay. If you use the pool, make sure you take your shoes in the pool area with you and not left in the shoe cubby outside the fence. After swimming with my kids for about a half hour, we went to leave and discovered someone had stolen my daughter's sandals. When I talked to the front desk, they didn't seem to care one way or the other. They never even asked for my name or site number in case they turned up.”

Clyde Theatre

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Can't think of anything negative.

“I love the Clyde Theatre in Langley, WA. It feels so homey, because I can't go there for a movie any given night or weekend without running into at least 4-6 people I know. People from Church, from Senior Center, or some Club I belong to. Even when I don't know a person, if I sit near them once or twice usually a conversation ensues, along with introductions. The people who work there are both paid help and volunteers and are so friendly week after week.”

  • Being in nature, the swimming pool, and the indoor pool and sauna for those 50+.
  • No cable for internet, but there is an internet center.

“I love going to Port Susan and hiding away in the forest in the summer. In the winter it is a little dark and cold with all the trees, but in the summer it is heavenly (although I do wish there were more sunny lots). It's an affordable way to spend the summers in Washington when we choose to and we don't have to worry about our trailer and belongings since the park is a gated and has rangers who patrol. There are a lot of rules to keep the park safe, clean, pristine, and such, but those rules are actually what keep the park so very nice.”

Pine Village Koa Campground
Apr 26, 2008 by Erin from Reno, NV

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2

  • The Wenatchee River is nice.
  • Please read my review.

“The actual grounds of this KOA are beautiful and the river is just a short walk down the hill. The owners, however, leave much to be desired. We found them to be extremely stingy and petty. We stayed a month because my husband was working in the area. I suppose, since we were given a monthly rate, they felt justified in giving us the worst possible site in the campground. Right on the only entrance, in between the dumpsters/dump station and a flooded leech field. Not only was this location extremely loud, the stench from the leech field was quite overpowering at times, not to mention a health concern. When we asked if we could move, they said no and assured us that the leech field would dry up in a day or two. Mind you, this was in April when there was hardly anyone else in the entire campground. Yet somehow they couldn't afford us a different site. Additionally, we had no barbeque pit our entire first week here, so my husband felt it would be ok if we borrowed the fire pit from the neighboring site. Within a half hour, a man came and took the pit back saying that we couldn't use it because we weren't paying for it. Several times after that, we would see the owner driving by our site very slowly, craning his neck to see if we had taken the fire pit back. The washers and dryers cost $1.50 per load and are frequently broken, which you don't find out until you've already put in your money and soap. There were many other little things that made us never want to stay here again, but if I took the time to list them all, I would be just as petty as the owners of this KOA.”

Bellingham International Airport
Nov 30, 2007 by Ryan from Bellingham

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2

  • Quick check in. Nice waiting area.

“I have had 2 flights out of Bellingham WA in the last month, and all I can say is if you can avoid it you should. I am sitting in the airport right now for the second time, only to have my flight delayed for the second time in a row. Today the delay is due to maintenance issues, so they have to call the maintenance crew and get them out of bed to come assess the situation (I'm not kidding) and last time my flight was cancelled indefinitely due to fog. I am beginning to wonder if flights ever leave on time from this airport. It would be wiser to fly into or out of Seattle, because most likely that is where they are going to make you drive when they cancel your flight. There are a lot of great things about Bellingham bit the airport is not one of them.”

Port Susan Camping Club
Oct 9, 2007 by Mike from Seattle, Washington

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Facilities, services, setting, relaxed attitude, quiet for a campground.
  • Predictable park politics, some condo commando type people (easy to avoid if you don't want to be involved).

“Port Susan is a private camping club, where you buy a membership and pay an annual maintenance fee. You have access to a camping site for 180 days each year. You can leave your RV there all year, so you have may have drive to camping. This is nice because once you are set up on your site, you don't have to spend a lot of time preparing each time you get away. Positives include reasonable buy in and annual maintenance fees. The club is non profit. Location is easy to access off I 5 (about 15 minutes from freeway). There are plenty of stores within a 20 minute drive. Although close to city services, the location feels remote. You definitely feel that you get away to a remote location. There are an incredible amount of facilities and services (24 hour rangers, gated entrance, pools, lake, clubhouse, water, and power, septic). There are no weekend passes so that you can check out the part before you buy in. The best you can do is visit the membership office and ask for a tour of sites for sale. Our family has a site at port Susan. We really enjoy it and would recommend it.”

Tulalip Casino Inc

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • The reception staff very helpful.
  • Air conditioning is on all the time, it can get cold in the casino.

“I visit a lot of the casinos in the Seattle area, and I have to say the tulalip is the best so far. It's not too big or too small, and the energy there is better than in most Washington state casinos. I've found the slots at tulalip to be looser than any other casino in the area, the table game staff is always very friendly, and the buffet is quite good. There is a good selection of slots, and the high limit slots use the same tickets as the standard slot machines, so there is no need to keep cashing out every time you want to change machines, which is one of my casino pet peeves. However, they have introduced a second type of slot ticket for use at their new machines. I'll have to wait to see how that works out. All in all, it's my favorite Washington casino so far.”

“The people in the office were friendly, efficient, and helpful. We were escorted to our site and parked. The site was quite adequate for our needs. Campground is quiet and clean. There are lots of wonderful trees and also open space. The free wife has a strong signal and is quite fast. The roads in the park are Narrowing; however, we were able to drive our 42 footer without any trouble. It's only a few minutes drive to the center of Leavenworth. There is a shuttle from the campground to town if you'd rather not fight the parking hassle there. .”

We were there on a Saturday and there was a sort of run/walk fundraiser going on at the time. The people are friendly and we were mainly off the main trail because of the high traffic. I love it there and plan to go there when I go back up again.”

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • Nice staff and good store.
  • Too crowded and sites too close together.

“While this campground had all the amenities for the modern, (full hook up, cable, wireless Internet), it was way too crowded. They pack them in here very tight. The road in and around the grounds is very narrow and people are tenting anywhere they can set up. Not very well controlled. Kids on skateboards, scooters, bikes, etc. running wild. Very noisy, crowded, and too tight to feel comfortable. If you need to dump your RV holding tank, the dump site is right on the one and only drive into/out of the park. Not well planned. Very small pool which was packed. Staff was nice and the store is well stocked. Will not stay here again due to the overcrowding and cramped sites.”

  • This is not the entire history of rock and roll so don't expect it.

“Bring all your friends and don't expect the complete history of Rock and Roll. I took my worldly rock and roller 7 year old son and we had a great time. We got there at 9am and waited an hour for the joint to open. The very kind employees told us the best time to go is between 4:30PM and 8PM (and have dinner in the EMP grill). My son and I had lunch at the EMP grill and it was very, very good. The wait staff was outstanding and the food was good and plenty. Go straight to the 3rd floor and do either the sound lab or the "on stage" areas then work your way down. I thought the store was lacking and expensive. hit the clearance table. We stayed from 10AM-4PM and my son never got bored. This would have been more fun with more friends to do the "on stage" area. We will go back with a crowd!”

Creek At Qualchan Golf Course
Jun 22, 2006 by Paula from Tucson

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • The beautiful setting, the dramatic views from the elevated tees, the challenging layout of the course.
  • A little tricky to find the first time you go there.

“ The Creek at Qualchan is easily the best value for the money of any course I have ever played. It is a public course but it is the most beautiful setting and the most interesting layout in the Spokane area. It is carved out of a beautiful woodland setting with elevated tees and fairways or greens on the other side of a huge gorge. Qualchan Creek meanders through the golf course and water comes into play on a number of holes. This course is a challenge for the low handicappers, but can be easily played by the higher handicap players too, and even if you don't score well you will love this course.”

“City University Distance Learning is *sub par. If you are considering taking CU DL classes you may want to make another choice. Not much teaching occurs with CU DL, if any, you're on your own and at almost $1500 per class, it's not worth it. Your advisor will likely get you to take the easy classes first and then you are in too deep to transfer out. Try to take the more substantial courses so you can see what they are like before committing with CU DL. Unacceptable to this customer.”

This museum has one of the best permanent exhibits of Pacific Northwest Indian art to be found anywhere. • Big and fancy
  • Not really about music

“Yknow, it's ok, as a big glamorous something or other. The building is cool, and it's hard to question the enthusiasm with which it was put together. But if you're going to a real authoritative museum of rock, this isn't it. The medium is so big that it really defies a museum in the traditional sense. If you want a museum of rock, check out the internet. It sounds like I'm being flip, but I'm not. You can glue a bunch of guitars together into a cool shape and get somebody famous's coat and a bunch of old posters, but that doesn't add up to rock and roll. So if you come looking for that, like I foolishly did, you'll be disappointed.”

“The boats come. The boats stop. The water goes up on one side and down on the other or vice versa. The boats go again. In a sense, if you've seen one set of locks, you've seen 'me all, and judged against that scale, the Ballard Locks are meant for only the truly desperate-for-attractions tourist. On the other hand, the gardens are pretty, and if you find yourself in the area, it's a decent place to just kick around and do nothing in for a half hour or so.”
