Crockett Family Resort, LLC
Sep 8, 2009 by September from Houston

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • The lake.
  • The unfriendly staff.

“This campground offers false advertisement as they do not rent paddle boats - resulting in very disappointed children. No kyaks and only one canoe that seats 3 people. No amenities in the over priced, outdated cabins. An unsanitary pool area. I will not recommend this resort to anyone, no one should have to pay to be treated unfriendly and have disappointed children due to false advertising. The cafe did not accept credit cards, they were closed on Sunday during a busy holiday weekend. The dumpsters are overflowing and unsanitary.”

  • Beverage cart girl was nice.
  • Did not enjoy the course, and customer service was awful.

“Customer service was awful! We were asked to hurry up even though we had no one within 3 holes of us. Had stuff stolen out of our car, and my neck still hurts from riding on their cart paths.”

Majestic Theatre
Jun 4, 2009 by Heather from Fort Worth, Texas

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7

  • Great setup.
  • Misinformation regarding cameras.

“The Majestic isn't much to look at on the outside, but it's actually very classy on the inside. The seats are comfortable, and they all provide a good view of the stage, due to the floor being slanted. Tickets are pretty expensive, but worth it for such a nice venue. However, cameras are (supposedly) not allowed, although when the doors were opened they announced that still photography was allowed. That was very irritating, as I didn't bring my camera because I didn't want it confiscated. Somebody dropped the ball there.”

Water Wall
May 3, 2009 by Jamie from Harrisonburg, VA

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • The shock of seeing the amount of water pouring over the wall.
  • The security guards were peculiar asking everyone where they parked and forcing people walking dogs to leave.

“My husband and I visited the Water Wall during our first trip to Texas, and we weren't sure what to expect. We parked at the Galleria parking deck and walked less than a block. It turned out to be one of our favorite stops in Houston. It is a grand architectural accomplishment and provides sheer wow factor. We enjoyed the mist on a hot spring day, took nearly 100 pictures, and found ourselves giggling and holding hands as we stood beside the wall.”

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • All positive.
  • No negatives.

“It's been years since my husband (now deceased) and I used to go there. We loved it. Everything is clean and well kept, proprietors are very friendly and helpful, you feel very secure there, the little store has everything you might need or that you forgot to bring from home. The water is clean and the beach is well kept up. I recommend it to families as well a romantic getaway with your honey. I'm going back again soon, even if I have to go by myself!”

Tri-County Mobile Vet Hospital
Oct 21, 2008 by Pattie from Princeton

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • The people, their clear love of animals.

“I love these people. I have two large dogs, that I prefer not to have to take the vets, since they act stupid sometimes around other animals. They come to the house and take wonderful care of the dogs. They talk to the both of them even though they are probably only treating one of them. They call me the next day to see how things are going and are so polite and concerned in everything that that do with the animals. I would recommend them to everyone!”

Claiborne West Park
Aug 28, 2008 by Sabrina Sullivan from Tyler,Tx.

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Clean, attractive, accommodating, & a nice place to gather.
  • I have no negative things to say. I loved the place!

“Every year, since 1996, when my grand father past away, his descendents have gathered at this park for what began as a memorial reunion in his honor. Last year, we lost my grandmother too. With the addition of the closest of friends, we still gather each fall to honor my grandparents, and celebrate life and love. We play baseball, volleyball, & horseshoes. The little one's enjoy the huge playground. And of course we eat a lot! This park accommodates all of our needs and wants, and we have a wonderful time spending the day together. The park is very clean, and attractive. Management girl - she is down to earth and a great person. She is very efficient and knows her business. I am sure our family will continue to gather, honor, and celebrate life each year at Claiborne Park. I could not imagine anywhere else. This time with my family means the world to me!”

Zilker Park
Aug 21, 2008 by Lula from Atlanta

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Everything.
  • Nothing.

“The park is beautiful; the hiking trail is fabulous, a real workout to make the complete trek around the trail. The trail feels like you are in the woods, and not in the city. The trail winds around the Colorado River which is just refreshing even in the hot Texas summers -- morning is particularly lovely -- evening is exceptionally nice too. The park across the street (near the guitars, don't know name of street) has fountains with water coming up from the ground which just fascinates children; at night the fountains are lit and is really pretty and the kids just have a good time. -- adults too. I would give Zilker a 20! Nice.”

Some of the employees are downright rude if you need assistance locating something, and the lines are invariable extremely long with a very slow checkout system. Additionally, the hours of operation are very limited.”

Anyone who loves to garden or just appreciates nature on display will find the arboretum a feast for the senses! My only regret was that I didn't have my camera with me! Everything from the gardens to the water features were well planned and executed---top notch!”

  • Noise level not observed if that bothers you then this isn't your place, it didn't bother me, just FYI.

“This is the second year in a row we have camped at Lazy L&L. We are tent campers and we camp with about 4 or 5 couples and their kids. Had a blast this year! Just like Last year. This place has a definite party atmosphere during memorial weekend. Always enough room. Well stocked store. Clean campground. Water/electric at every site. Many areas to access river. Love it.”

Carmike Cinemas
May 25, 2008 by Joyce from Burkburnett

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7

  • The cost of food inside.

“This cinema is just as clean as the other two cinemas in town, but the other two are up on the recent movies, where the one on Maplewood behind the mall is showing movies that just came out on DVD for sale. But the cost to see there movie is only a couple of dollars where it is about a ten dollar bill to get in at the other two cinemas. So if you are on a tight budget and poor this is the one to choose.”

Mother Frances Hospital Region
Apr 6, 2008 by Sheree from Tyler, TX

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • A few of the nurses are actually humane.

“The doctors are very condescending, arrogant, and assume the worst of everyone. The nurses are overworked, stressed out all the time, and act like you're an annoyance more than a patient. They frequently order unnecessary tests using excessive amounts of radiation. They are very forthcoming about the fact that they don't trust you, that they don't care about you, and that any reason (besides a heart attack or a gunshot wound) for your visit to their ER isn't good enough.”

Las Colinas
Mar 18, 2008 by Carrie from Lubbock, TX

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Beautiful city, well-groomed, and close to everything in DFW. The Mandalay Canal is lovely!
  • I would love to see more restaurants and shops cropping up!

“Recently I have visited Las Colinas and there are many beautiful sites to see. Of course, when people hear the name "Las Colinas," they immediately think of the mustangs and the clock, which are something to see, but since my stay in Las Colinas, I've noticed that there is something more...something I hadn't noticed several years ago. Las Colinas has the feel of a very well-kept, beautiful suburb, but it's located very conveniently to Dallas and Fort Worth. A few of the many nearby attractions, which are less than 5-15 minutes away, include The Four Seasons, Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine (about 15 minutes away), Grapevine Vintage Railway that goes to the Fort Worth Stockyards and offers some very unique tours, and Texas Stadium in Irving. My favorite part of Las Colinas is The Mandalay Canal, which gives the area such a beautiful, relaxing feel. There are several luxury hotels very close to the canal. Although the Omni Mandalay Resort ranks, in my opinion, as the finest hotel in Las Colinas, (and possibly among the finest I've seen), my stay at the Wyndham-Las Colinas Hotel was quite pleasant. I don't remember a time when I've ever received service and hospitality with such attention-to-detail. They really go out of their way to serve their guests and I truly felt like a VIP. It's quite apparent that Las Colinas is in a huge developmental stage, with so many big companies in the area. There's no telling what the chamber of commerce has in store for the future of tourism in their pretty little city. I would go so far as to say that Las Colinas is among Texas' "best kept secrets"...a must-see!”

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Everything.
  • Very dry weather area. No open campfires allowed due to county fire band.

“Great campground with wonderful people, both the management and the RV people are outstanding. The spaces are larger than what you find at other campgrounds. The campground is located off the main highways, which is a big plus for us as road noise is virtually non-existent. The management is adding new things to the campground and is determined to make this campground the best in Kerrville, TX.”

Casa Manana
Dec 7, 2007 by Moni from Flower Mound

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Theater is nice; you can watch the play from any seat.
  • You can have rude, under prepared people in front of you.

“TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Beware! I went to Casa Manana for "Frosty the Snowman". When we were leaving at the end, one of the cast members appeared in front of me from nowhere and was very rude with me. She was playing the MOM in the show. She accused me of video taping the show and even said I was giving a bad example to my kids. My 6 years old is very scared and talking about that every minute since that. I was not video taping the show at all (would I be crazy enough to take my 2 kids to a theater and video tape the show? - is it really worth the experience?) I went to the theater to have fun and what I got was my kids very scared because of a very rude under prepared cast member... not really worth the money...you can find better and nicer things to go to.... Christmas Spirit is far away from the "Frosty the snowman cast members."”

Old Macdonald's Farm Inc
Oct 23, 2007 by Barbara from houston,texas

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • The pool.
  • Cages needed to be cleaned more often.

“We love old McDonalds farm. I recommend it to everyone. It is never crowed because it has so many acres and beautiful trees. They have nice benches that are covered. The children love to pet the animals and ride the train. There are ponies that you can ride as many times as you want. They also sell food for the animals for 50 cents. We didn't have any problem using the pool and no one said anything about it being reserved. They also have deer that room the park, and the kids love to feed them. I think this is not only fun for the kids, but it is also educational. They also allow you to bring in your own food and drinks. You can even order food and bring it in.”
