Cinema 1 Inc

  • Friendly.
  • Type of patrons.

“Somewhat downtrodden, definitely friendly. Couples on Friday and Saturday evenings, not enough male patrons, and then many are either overweight, or the very senior side or unkempt. Hope it improves.”

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7

  • Clean, comfortable, reasonably price, safe and convenient to family nearby.
  • Taking luggage up a flight of stairs.

“I have not stayed there for the past 3 years, but when I was last there it was still a good value for a comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom with friendly, accommodating folks. The only reason I did not give it a higher rating was the restaurant was closed when we were there.”

Dollywood
Oct 19, 2008 by C. Shaver from Newark, DE

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4

  • Train ride and McKamey's show was very good.
  • Too much expensive for family park, too much waiting in line.

“I visited the park on Oct. 9th, 2008 with my wife, my brother and his wife. I was not impressed with the overall experience as most of our time was spent standing in line. First, after paying $8 to park, we had to stand in line for the tram to the park. After arriving at the park we had to stand in line to purchase tickets for the four of us. By that time it was lunch time and we stood in line to get a hamburger, fries and soda for $11 plus each. Another 40 minutes in line to take a 25 minute train ride. We then waited in line another 1 1/2 hours to get into the Celebrity Theater for a 45 minute show. Another 45 minutes in line for the tram to the parking lot and the day was complete.”

Ruby Falls
Aug 22, 2008 by cathy shepherd from trenton ohio

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • I loved everything.
  • Nothing

“I have read other people's reviews and I am so surprised. My 2 small grand-daughters and I toured the caverns. I loved the presentation and the dramatic lights. I have been on many cave tours and thought this was the best. I did stay in the front of the pack with the girls (ages 4 and 9) so we did hear all the descriptions. Our guide was fun and energetic. He kept our attention and was so educational when questions were asked. I would go again. As for the elevator it was crowed but how are they supposed to get people in and out quickly? Since this is an all enclosed cave with only the elevator to get down into the cave, just endure it! Seems people will find something wrong with everything. Not me and our elevator ride, it was crowded, but so what, the ride took maybe 2 minutes maximum not to much to ask to see such an amazing work of nature.”

  • They have black light bowling.
  • Rude.

“The people at pro bowl are not very friendly. I stood at the check out for at least 10 minutes before two employees who were talking came over to help me. We had problems with the two lanes we bowling on all night. We got there about 2 hours before closing, when we were in the middle of our last game it was about 30 minutes until closing and they turned off our lane. Overall it was not a good time.”

Rock and Soul Museum
May 26, 2008 by Sara

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4

  • Resting feet in an air-conditioned building while watching the 10 minute film.
  • The boring self guided audio tour, the lack of focus, being rushed out early.

“Of all the exhibits I visited in Memphis this was the blandest. It should perhaps be titled the Rock and Soul-less Museum. First of all it was hard to find as the address is listed on Beale Street and it is actually a half a block off Beale Street. I should have known to leave when we entered a deserted lobby and a life less gift shop. We took the tour anyway on the chance that maybe it would end up being good; since it is affiliated with the Smithsonian I hoped it would be alright. The best part was at the beginning, you sit in a small theater and watch a short film on the birth of rock and soul in Memphis and how the black and white cultures came together to break down racial and musical barriers. After the film you are left to go on the most lifeless self guided audio tour I have ever been on. The tour takes you through the birth of rock and soul, but by the time you have gotten through the first room focusing on sharecropping and poverty in the south you have forgotten why you are there. The audio track is dull and geared towards the lowest common denominator. You begin to feel as if you are at a lecture rather than on vacation. The best part of the audio tour is being able to listen to your choice of many tracks on jukeboxes throughout the exhibit. We found by stopping and listening to them though we were only drawing out the excruciating experience of being there. We started picking only select audio tracks to listen to, which ended up being a good thing, because even though we entered the museum before their recommended last tour time, they actually began to flash the lights on and off to get us out of the museum, making it obvious that even the people that work there don't want to be there! In short, do not go to this museum, if you want to learn about Rock and Soul, go to Sun Studios and the Souls Ville Stax Museum.”

Baptist Hospital
Apr 7, 2008 by Roby A. sherman from Wildwood, GA

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • See above, I was triaged promptly by the triage nurse getting VS, etc.
  • The girls at the front desk were a little slow to make me feel welcome but once they did, they were nice.

“4/7/08 I was taken to Baptis hospital by ambulance March 25, 2008 for a fall I sustained at the Nashville convention center. The people greeting me were quite nice and efficient. The young lady back in the fast track where I was for a couple of hours or so was very nice and went out her way to locate the friends' telephone number in Pegram, TN, where I had planned to stay that night. I had to let them know I couldn't because it was late and too scary to go up to the 7th floor of the Central Garage on 7th St. where I was parked. So again, someone called a taxi for me who took me to Day's Inn for the night. And the P.A. was very courteous and friendly as were the nurses. Thank you for a positive experience in your emergency room. I hope I won't need it again!”

  • The shows and food.
  • So far away from Indy

“Dolly wood is a very family friendly park, with lots of included shows, an exciting trip on a coal fired locomotive pulled train, lots of good food, and some very interesting exhibits like the eagle enclosure where they keep injured eagles and raise eagles to be released in the wild. Lots of rides and the state fair area brings back lots of memories for a lot of us. A must do if you are going to the PF/ GB area.”

Ripleys Believe It Or Not
Feb 29, 2008 by Amanda from Macon, GA

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5

  • The giant heavy ball that spins, and seems to float on top of a water spout outside the museum. You don't actually have to buy a ticket for that though.
  • An x-ray of a dog that somehow swallowed a dagger, the torture exhibits, the small cramped walkways

“I think it wasn't worth the time or money. They had a couple of cool things but I definitely would not take a child in there. They tried to freak you out (or gross you out) more than entertain you in most instances and exhibits. I went, got the ticket stub for my scrapbook, but wouldn't go again.”

  • The view.
  • Everything else.

“February 14, 2008 the worst Valentines Day ever. It was my 5 year anniversary and I thought the riverboat would be a romantic idea, well I thought wrong. One, we get to the boat to find a horrible sitting arrangement, but guess what our name is marked off on it, so we have no seat. It was great standing there for 10 minutes while they tried to find use a table when the reservations had been made for a month. Anyways as the night goes by we wait for our turn to go to the BUFFET, they said they would come get us to go get food, we were on the opposite side of the boat so we got to go last, while others apparently got to eat several times. We did not get any food, well we did but I don't think you consider cold chicken and green beans food. Finally at the end of the ride they tried to compensate us for the food we did not get with a bottle of Andre Extra Dry champagne, a $6 bottle that they say cost $25. In all we were compensated $49 for the most horrible night of my life. Trust me I have been to many places but this was by far the worst do not go!”

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Great specials/clean!
  • Customer service needs improved!

“The center is bright and clean! Very large (plenty of room). The offer to school age children specials of bringing in canned goods for a free game. And to the parents buy a lunch and get a game free! You got to love that especially if you have a large family! We had a great experience there. The only reason I couldn't give them a 10 on ratings is customer service. Seemed a bit incovienced when helping. And the deli was the same. Over all they have all our bowling business!”

Coolidge Park
Dec 31, 2007 by Heather Bass from Ooltewah, TN

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4

  • I like the history and brief description of the park.
  • The info for events was vague including incorrect contact info.

“The history about the park is interesting, however there I saw link to a calendar of events for the park. The link provided only directs you to the city of Chattanooga with a calendar of openings for buildings or new locations (not Coolidge park related). The phone number listed as a contact for more information was also incorrect. I have three young boys who enjoy fireworks, craft shows, and other family related activities that we never hear about which occur often at Coolidge park. A travel guide insert should include more accurate information to help one plan their vacation. A calendar of events that occur throughout the year with interests for people with or without families should be available.”

Dollywood
Dec 11, 2007 by gustarus from lexington

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • None.
  • They want your money.

“My family and I went to dolly wood December 2007 and were very disappointed. My kids had traveled from England and I felt very guilty after the trip for taking them to such a disappointing place. It cost $206 for 5 of us to get in .plus $7 for parking! My first impression once inside was that the place is geared to taking every dollar you have left, after paying the extortionate entry fee, before you leave. We must have walked past 20+ stores before we even saw any amusements. My kids expected rides, rides and more rides .they didn't want to buy oil paintings, cowboy hats, romantic novels, leather jackets or glass oil burners! When we eventually found some rides, which to be honest didn't take that long as the place is tiny, we were very disappointed. The rides, except for perhaps 2 rollercoasters are the sort of things you expect to see at low budget street fairs. The place is best avoided you are far better off to spend your hard earned $ in pigeon forge at such places as wonderworks, the theaters and the go kart tracks etc. Alternatively head for Kentucky, six flags is far better and far cheaper.”

Southern Belle Riverboat

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Friendly people, good food.
  • You usually have to sit with another couple. It is really crowed on Saturday nights, recommend Sundays.

“I always love coming on the Riverboat the staff is friendly and the food is excellent. The band, although not the best, always plays fun music and is very entertaining. When you come onto the pier you are greeting by a huge gift shop. The prices are really reasonable compared to other attractions gift shops and it is beautiful. I have been on the Riverboat 3 or 4 times and every time it is great. The staff goes out of the way to make sure you're having a good time. The front desk even recognizes me when I come in and they greet me by name.”

Eagles Landing Golf Course
Sep 29, 2007 by Jeff from Roswell,Ga.

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7

  • Course upkeep combined with cost of play. Nice snack/bathroom area at the turn.
  • Scorecard yardages.

“This is a challenging course with some great views. The course itself is spread out which makes you feel like you are not playing on top of other groups. There are some questions about the yardages on many of the holes and the score card. Be wary of the 4th and 5th holes. Unless you can fly it 300yds, lay up on the 4th at the 150yd marker. There is nowhere to bail out on the 5th so keep your tee shot in the fairway. All said, when in the area there is no better course to play for the upkeep and money. You would not know this is a municipal course!”

Knoxville Zoological Gardens, Inc.
Aug 25, 2007 by Patricia from Findlay OH

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Educational and enjoyable.
  • The heat - but not zoo's fault, they had misters for humans too.

“This was a very nice zoo but we chose to visit on an extremely hot and humid day. The best display we thought was the black bears. They had a marvelous exhibit area and were obviously enjoying it. The zoo was very well kept up, had very good educational but fun signage, and lots of designs to interest children. Most of the animals were either not in sight or hiding in undergrowth, due to the heat and not zoo management. Roving information volunteers were most informative and interesting, especially the man by the elephants. This zoo is also a receptacle zoo to many others, so check if your zoo membership will get you in.”

Glen Eagle Golf Course
Jul 9, 2007 by Greg from Orem, Utah

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Excellent value, challenging layout, helpful staff.
  • Can be very slow play on the weekends.

“Since this is a military supported golf facility, I am inclined to believe that those who said the staff were rude and condescending have never served in the military and mistook military bearing as a negative personality trait. I have played over 60 rounds of golf at Glen Eagle since February of this year and find the course to be quite challenging, especially the greens. Though I am used to a higher quality of course, I found Glen Eagle to be in very good shape and see improvements all the time, including a brand new club house that is having its preliminary grand opening today, July 9th. They will have a more formal opening in the next couple of weeks. They have all new electric carts as well at this facility and the rates are unbeatable! You would be hard pressed to find a better course for the money.”

“This hole-in-the-wall bowling alley was terrible. Unless you like the stench of years of smoke, filthy bowling chairs, and dingy carpet, steer clear of this disgusting little place. The staff (the owner) was very rude. It took him a long time to wait on us, even though we were standing directly in front of him and were the only people there. He overcharged us as well. I would have protested, but he never got off of the phone while he was ringing me up. By then, I just wanted to get out of there. ”

“The cave and falls are nice, but from my position in the herd I could not hear anything and got railroaded past the exhibit areas in a rush. Go somewhere else. National Civil Rights Museum
Aug 10, 2006 by Annie from Arkansas

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Entire staff was very helpful.
  • Nothing

“By the end of this tour, I was nearly overcome with emotion. This museum is a must for anyone visiting Memphis. The museum is actually built onto the Lorraine Motel where MLK was shot. The tour is self guided and is best if you purchase the audio headphones for only $2 more. The exhibits are well presented with as many true historical objects as possible such as the bus Rosa Parks was on and a burned out bus Freedom Fighters rode on. The rooms that MLK was in before his death are very moving. While not able to go out onto the actual balcony where he was shot, you are able to view it. Across the street, the museum is expanding. There are lots of exhibits about the shooter, investigation, and trial. There is a viewing from a window to the balcony of the Lorraine, probably just as the shooter saw it. This museum was the highlight of my trip.”

Tens of feet ahead of us might be some nice formation, but we'd never know it. We were our feet over two hours. Most Getting to the 'falls'. Your groups are too large. 50ish people ( I counted each group passing by us the variance was 47 to 58 ) means most don't get to see/hear what's going on. We get to stop on a regular basis and wait.. At the climax, the falls, the show was well into it before the back third entered the cavern. I and those with me didn't go around the falls because the guide was telling us we needed to go for the next group. As the last of the three Lookout Mtn visits we had hoped it would be the cap to a nice day Instead it was the confirmation of how tourist traps are run. Double the 1 hr time frame. Pathetic and obvious to end the tour in front of the 'tipping' sign to yet again have us stand and wait to even enter the elevator Queue and THEN, booting us out two floors above the exit ..blocking us until the sales pitch is finished.”

  • Seating.
  • Service.

“Very clean theater. Comfortable seating. Movies always start on time! Only problem in the service is very rude. I visited the theater several times and always have rude service. Even from the managers that work there.”

  • Friendly staff that actually seems to appreciate my business.
  • Couldn't find one.

“What a great course. The greens are fast and smooth - best I've putted on in a long time. The course is challenging, they have excellent GPS units on every cart, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The prices are great. This is a great value - and only about 35 minutes from Franklin. This is a must play - I'll be heading south to the Creek many more times this year.”
