Bay Tree Golf Plantation
Aug 24, 2008 by Allen from New Windsor

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • Location and price.
  • Condition of grounds and rental units.

“Just got back this morning and I have to say the place is going down hill quickly. We have been going here since 1994 and the last two stays have found, not only the condos, but the complex in general not being kept like it once was. The golf courses are closed and weed filled. The ponds in the center of the complex are overgrown and almost drained (drought?). The condo we stayed in was in need of a lot of work from simple things like working light bulbs to new carpeting and comforters on the beds (stained and nasty).”

The Redneck Shop
Aug 1, 2008 by Rusty from Myrtle Beach

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Nothing.
  • Everything.

“Just a horrible place. Rude, inbred, racist, hate-mongers running a shop and a museum which advocates hate towards anyway different from themselves. I hope this place is shut down and the people get locked away.”

Apache Pier & Fmly Campground
Jul 27, 2008 by Barbara from Ocala Fla

Overall Rating: 6 User Rating Score: 6

  • The Pier.
  • Showers/restrooms.

“We are big on restrooms and showers and the last time we were at Apache they were awful. They have not updated them and the RV area down by the water is too crowded. We like Apache for the fishing pier but have decided that we will try another campground in the future. Myrtle Beach Travel Park is large too but the restrooms/showers are immaculate.”

Little Theatre
Jun 15, 2008 by M.S from Camden

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5

  • Low price for admission.
  • Needs makeover, new seats w/ cup holders.

“Since the gas prices are so high, this may be an option for you! Especially if you are local. The theatre is not fancy.”

Shipyard Golf Club
Jun 3, 2008 by Brent from Atlanta

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Alligators in ponds!
  • Overbooked. Pathetic employees who didn't know anything!

“This was the worst golfing experience that my brother and I have ever had while playing a round of golf. We arrived there at 8:50 for a tee time of 9:16 a.m. We did not tee off until almost 10 a.m. literally. They overbooked themselves by dozens. The starter, check in person and others did not have a clue what to do. We had to be paired with others to get enough people off together at one time. Each hole we come to you still have to wait at least 10 minutes to tee off to let all the others in front of you get out of the way. I mean come on. This is golf! It is supposed to be fun and relaxing, not stressful. We had to be somewhere at 1 p.m. that afternoon and could only play 9 holes. That right there is bad business etiquette. They told me it was our loss. It was not our loss, it in fact was there fault. You have a tee time to go off at that specific time, not whenever they feel like letting you go off. I do not recommend this course to anyone, whether you are an avoid golfer or just want to play for fun. I urge you to boycott this course and make them learn that no one wants to be treated like the scum of the earth like we were treated. And by the way, they claimed their computers were down when in fact I saw others checking people in on computers.”

Middleton Place Foundation
Apr 26, 2008 by Connie from Columbia, S.C.

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Cost, food, nothing to see or do unless willing to pay additional fees.

“We had lunch at the restaurant and it was the worst 30 minute wait when not busy and food that was unpalatable and service that was less friendly than a fast food place.”

Middleton Place Foundation
Mar 12, 2008 by Lisa from Kentucky

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • The gardens are exceptional.
  • The prices seem incredibly high.

“The gardens at Middleton Place are incredibly beautiful and very extensive. There is definitely a lot to see, even for someone (like me) who is not that knowledgeable about plants and gardens. The house museum was pretty good, but you should know that it is not the original home. For the price of admission, I wouldn't recommend it over some of the other homes in Charleston.”

The Redneck Shop
Mar 10, 2008 by jane from charleston

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Nothing.
  • Everything.

“This isn't a museum/shop teaching history, it is one that promotes and encourages the history of hate. I would give it a negative rating if it was an option.”

The Redneck Shop
Mar 10, 2008 by Brad from NC

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Nothing.
  • Everything.

“The owner is a former Grand Dragon of the KKK. If you are a racist, if you are a hater, if you want to send a slap in the face to morality and Christian values, or if you are a stupid redneck, this is the place for you.”

Koa Kampground
Sep 5, 2007 by Jacob from NC

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4

  • Campground was spacious. Campers were not on top of each other.
  • Nasty.

“The campground itself was fairly nice. The bathrooms that were at the pool house were extremely nasty. Spiders and bugs crawling everywhere. The cabin that we rented has spacious. But the first night a lizard was in the cabin. The door did not shut very good and left a gap at the bottom. The lizard was not bad but there are worse crawling things that could have gotten in. The neighbor cabin had two dogs that continuously barked all day. The owner left in the morning and did not return until late that evening. We tried relaxing and to take a nap, impossible.”

Rocks Pond Campground
Sep 4, 2007 by Mike from Winston Salem

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2

  • Good fishing.
  • Cabin/baot filthy and Owner dishonest.

“Filthy rental cabin (cream). Worst pontoon I ever rented; bent prop, undersized motor, filthy, poor fish/depth finder. The owner tried to charge me $90 for a new prop. It was bent when I went out, I hit something and bent it more and owner felt I should buy him a brand new one because he did not notice who had bent the prop the first time, and no one was charged for the damaged prop he sent me out with. Owner said boats are cleaned every time, worker said they are never cleaned, and they are for fishing.”

Apache Pier & Fmly Campground
Sep 1, 2007 by William & TAMMY SWEITZER from CROSSVILLE TN

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4

  • The staff was very nice.
  • Poor camp sights.

“When we arrived our site was not ready, a tent camper was on it; there was cigarette butts all over the site; camp site was to small; had to get up and move our truck so other campers could get by. Fireworks were being shot late at night when there was a prohibited sign stating no firearms or fireworks allowed. When it rained, the camp sight flooded, and the food at the restaurant was terrible. I had my mother and father stay at a different sight, and they were very disappointed as well. The only thing that I was pleased with is that the staff was overly nice. Will never return to this camp sight again.”

Boone Hall Plantation Inc
Jun 8, 2007 by Brenda from Elizabeth City, NC

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • The history and two of the moves made there about our history.
  • There are no negatives.

“My husband and I visited bone hall plantation last year on the anniversary of the day the south left the north. I have to tell you bone hall was the best value for the money. At $14.50 per adult, they were the cheapest plantation in town. You get guided house tour, a guided garden tour, and a guided slave street and history tour! The only thing extra was the tram tour, which we went on, and loved! Erica was our tour guide; she was very informative, and so much fun! Erica truly made history come alive! We are going back this year. We loved it there.”

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Everyone was so friendly.
  • I can't go often enough.

“Rocks pond made my family visit a great time. The entire family from the very young to the adults all had a wonderful time. The live bands were entertaining, the beach was relaxing, we rented golf carts due to the size of the property, we rented a pontoon boat for the weekend, and we will be back. And often!”

Alabama Theatre

Boone Hall Plantation Inc
Jun 23, 2006 by Ann from California

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Everything was wonderful!
  • The house is not original.

“My family and I visited Boone Hall plantation, as well as some others in the area. I have to say, Boone Hall was the best value for the money. At $14.50 per adult, they were the cheapest plantation in town, AND, included in that admission is a 20 minute play "Life in the South," the 45 minute "Exploring the Gullah Culture", as well as a guided Garden Tour, and a guided Slave Street and History tour! The only thing extra was the tram tour, which we went on, and loved! The tram was $5 for adults, and children I believe, were $3, I do know that our house guide said that kids under 6 could not ride the tram for safety (no seatbelt). The house was a bit disappointing since it was built in 1936, and you can't see the upstairs because the owners still live there, but the guide made it worth it! Erica was our tour guide, she was very informative, and so much fun! Our kids (12 & 15) didn't think they would enjoy it, but Erica truly made history come alive! We'd go back in a heartbeat!”
