Downingtown 16
Aug 17, 2008 by Ginger from East Fallowfield

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Quaint atmosphere, excellent menu, ample servings & great prices.
  • Salad bar is lacking, while fresh there just isn't enough to choose from.

“I'm from NYC too & the food & prices at Coppa 82 are superb! We just discovered it a few weeks ago & have since been back a couple of times to try other items on the menu. All are good to excellent. I particularly liked the Pasta Primavera.”

Yogi Bear Jellystone Park
Aug 17, 2008 by Tim from Queensbury, NY

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • The sites were large, great activities for the kids, great water park and pool.
  • None that we encountered.

“We started our vacation by camping near Hershey Park. I called the Yogi Bear Jelly stone Park in Quarryville, PA the morning that I was leaving Hershey and headed there to get some directions. I spoke to person, which was very eager to help. His directions were very good. We arrived at the RV Park, checked in and were escorted to our site. We were very pleased with the size of our site. During our stay there, we spent many hours at the pool and water park. My whole family really enjoyed everything about this park. During our stay, we visited the store at the park many times. Their staff was very nice and friendly. The day before we left for home, I spoke to that person and his wife. They again gave me some very good directions to get on I-78 and by-pass Lancaster traffic. I would recommend this site and we will visit there again. We can't wait.”

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Prices.
  • Bottled pop, instead of fountain drink.

“Great old time theater, nice change from the big obnoxious mega-plexus, and the concessions are extremely reasonable ($3.50 for a large popcorn, compared to $6.00).”

Idlewild Park

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Live in St. Louis now, Kenny wood is #1 on my list every summer visit.
  • Its Kenny Wood Park, not idle wild park.

“Idle wild Park is in Latrobe, PA. Kenny wood Park is in West Mifflin. This is an old fashioned park, with great wooden rollercoaster's. If you don't like the rides. Eat best food of anywhere.”

Yogi Bear Jellystone Park
Jun 3, 2008 by Linda from Philadelphia

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Promised waterpark should be nice.
  • Terrible owner attitude and behavior.

“Wish I'd read reviews on other sites before booking here -- the facilities are only okay and expensive for what's there, but the "family owners" (at least they seem to be related to each other) are astonishingly rude. When my family had a small complaint about our location (across from the bathrooms, although we'd booked more than a month in advance), they refused to make any change and basically told us tough luck. Then the next day, the man, Bob, cursed me out to my face when I said hello to him! Not my idea of family centered behavior or of anywhere I'd pay to be.”

Hershey Park
May 30, 2008 by Kenny from Boston

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Easy to get to, and a good looking park.
  • Bad attitudes, and rude behaviors.

“Nice lay out, but not a family park. Rude park guests, may display gang mentality. Security guards do nothing to quell guest shouting cat calls at girls and young women. Line cutting is permitted, at least if you do they will do nothing about it. Foul language is tolerated in all parts of the park, no one will do anything about it. Some rides if your kid is smart enough they can disengage the safety bars while the ride is in motion, like the kids pirate ship.”

Cumberland Drive-In Theatre
May 22, 2008 by shawn from hagerstown

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Everything.
  • Nothing.

“It's a great place to take the whole family at a very affordable price. The food is also reasonably priced. Most of the movies are family oriented. And it's unbelievable what you get: 2 new release movies that only cost $6 per adult, $3 for kids, and my 2 year old is free. In total it costs my family $12. I don't think I could even get a drink and popcorn for that low of a price in an indoor theatre. It is also a family environment. There is play equipment for the kids and plenty of grass for them to run around before the movies start. And I have never seen any problems there; nobody drinking alcohol, no fighting. Everyone seems to have a mutual respect for one another and the property.”

Pines Plaza Bowling Lanes Inc
May 7, 2008 by Joe from Pittsburgh

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Clean, Bright, No Smoking, High Scoring.
  • Can be tough at time to get a lane.

“For those who want up-to-date info. on Pines Plaza Bowling Lanes, the renovations are complete and they have re-opened. The new lanes are very nice and the equipment works much better. Smoking is no longer permitted, which is fantastic. The new owner is very nice and the staff is friendly. They have some basic bar-type food (fries, provolone sticks, etc.), which are surprisingly good. It's really a nice, family-friendly place to be.”

  • I don't have to go back.
  • You name it, it was negative.

“Overpriced. Terrible conditions. Bunkers not well kept, more dandelions than grass in the fairways, shaggy and bumpy greens. Groundskeepers continued to Mow fairway while we were hitting down! Better bang for the buck go to Oakbrook down on 30.”

Applewood Golf Course
Apr 28, 2008 by Jim from Trucksville

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • I like the layout of the course.
  • Only 9 holes (they are looking into another 9 in the near future).

“For a 9 hole course Apple wood is one of the best around this area. It is laid out very nice with some scenic holes. We usually play from the white tees first and the blue tees the second time around. The greens are kept nice and usually pretty fast. It is a little hilly but that just makes it more interesting. Water on three holes so watch out. All in all it is worth the trip to come and play this course. The course is kept in nice shape all year.”

Best Bowl Inc.
Mar 31, 2008 by John from Middleburg

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2

  • No Smoking.
  • Unfriendly help & machines always need reset causing frustration.

“My wife and I took our 4 children to Best Bowl, Inc. for an evening of family fun. We had no trouble getting in and were impressed by the "No Smoking" signs. During our game, the computerized scoring did not work very well. Every other play we had to reset the computer & ask for assistance. Most disappointing was the help. The guy was unfriendly & could not be found behind the counter when needed. He was usually in the arcade with other kids. The ball return very rarely returns your ball in time for your second chance. We were very disappointed with the machines and the help.”

  • Up to date movies, the cost (it's cheap).
  • People in trucks parking in front of us little cars. The trucks should be made to park in the back!

“I love that there's a place to take my kids, that we won't get, "be quiet", or we are going to have to ask you to leave." You see people don't realize how hard it is to keep a 2 1/2 year old and a 4 years old quiet. Let alone get them to set through a 2 hour movie, and not have to go potty! Ha! I love the overall experience my kids get. It's like we have our own private screening!”

  • The balls were too heavy 6 pounds for a four year old.

“It is very affordable and you'll have a blast. My dad and I only paly two games and it might not seem much but it took forever. We had laugh with each other and my brother who is 4 really got it out of us. Lets just say the ball was as slow as a turtle and even though there were bumpers to get pin down no matter what he still didn't get one down. So i hope you'll go there and spend the time of your life.”

Sesame Place
Sep 3, 2007 by Audry from Langhornd

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Sandcastle beach & Ernies waterworks.
  • Sometimes the lines for the rides/shows can get long especially weekends.

“We have season passes and visit every chance we get. Everyone from sesame place is friendly and hospitable and tries to make sure all of the guests have the best possible experience. My son does not like "rides" but there is still plenty here for him to enjoy. There are plenty of different water attractions from inches deep to a couple of feet deep. He absolutely loves the Elmos world live show and the new abbey cad Abby show is nice too. His all time favorite is big bird's beach party show with just about all the characters. We bring in a small "playmate" cooler with juice boxes to keep him hydrated. (Only a small cooler is allowed.) Two-day passes cost the same as one-day so why not come back the second day instead of trying to find something else to do. This is fun! Pack you swimsuit & towel and don't forget your sunscreen and a hat! Enjoy!”

My 2 1/2 year old loved it! As did I. We just got back on Sunday the 26th of August. And I will defiantly go back. Its not anymore expensive than any other amusement park. We go to Kenny wood and the prices are comparable. The park is extremely clean, staff very friendly and helpful. I will recommend this place to anyone!”

Riddle Memorial Hospital
Aug 22, 2007 by Rev. Angela Rapalyea from Philadelphia, PA

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Nothing.
  • Everything. Nurses at station rolling their eyes when requests are made and failing to respond to calls.

“Mean, incompetent, brutal nurses manhandled my friend, gave her drugs that had been taken off her chart and removed heart medications she was meant to have. Did not notify her MD when her foot swelled up, which could have been due to blood clots. Although proper info had been given in intake, nurse did not include heart condition in chart. Rudeness, physical brutality, lack of cleanliness cleaning up frequent bathroom messes, you name it, and it has been a horror show. I wouldn't put a vicious animal in this hospital. There will no doubt be a lawsuit and hopefully a full medical board investigation.”

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4

  • Layout.
  • Clueless staff.

“Nice layout though the course is quite short from the white tees. I have played this course five times and it is always overbooked. They don't have enough carts so you often wait in the parking lot for someone to unload. If you call for tee times make sure to ask if they have an outing. They gave me a tee time 15 minutes after a 36 foursome shotgun start and they didn't think it would be a problem for us to slide in to the mix. It's too bad they don't have a clue how to book a tee time because this is a fun course to play but I won't go back and endure another six hour round.”

76 Carriage Company
Aug 1, 2007 by Jenni from Philly

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • The history tours are awesome!
  • The company behind the scenes.

“Tours are awesome, history is great. You will learn something new each time you go, every driver is different and gives different tours. However, the conditions the horses live in are deplorable. The company has no regard for the law regulating the weather conditions in which horses can be on the streets, and the management in the company leaves something to be desired, and the drivers and barn staff are treated horribly and paid inadequately for the work they do. I do recommend the carriage tours, because they are fun and informative. I would not suggest working there.”

Hartmanns Deep Valley Golf Course

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7

  • Challenging.
  • No sand traps.

“It costs 31.00 for a cart and a round of 18. The first hole is a challenge and the front 9 is very Narrow also presenting a challenge to any golfer. On the back 9 there are strategically placed water hazards that make this course one that I would recommend to anyone. Unlike the front 9, the back 9 opens up and it's a whole different course. Great fairways! Course is maintained just as well as quicksilver. If you like to golf and need a challenge, then you need to tee off at Hartmann's deep valley!”

  • The movies are current usually.
  • Parking areas with large vehicles are not enforced.

“The movie experience is usually wonderful, although it seems to be more rudeness from other movie goers on parking tall vehicles where they should not be allowed to park. The food is ok, a bit expensive for what you get. If a triple feature is playing, get there at least 1 hour early, or you will make the drive for nothing, because there will not be room for you to park. Also, be careful letting kids sit in front of your car, because of the traffic.”
