“It was an absolutely pleasant experience in such a sad time. I was treated with unbelievable respect. All nurses and aids helped us day and night for 60 days while my mother, who was the patient, was very uncooperative.”
5 Star Lanes, Inc
“5 Star is a awesome bowling center. The place is spotless and clean with competitive price's. Just once I'd like to go there and not have 50 lane going on a Thursday night with it only being a dollar a game. Its so awesome that I go with my friends to bowl just to be there! When we get there we're always on a waiting list, but with other things to do there its okay. There is always someone there to help you if you have a question.”
Fernwood Btnic Grdn Nature Ctr
“I have been going to Fernwood for over 20 years. We lived in Granger, IN so it was close. Now we live in the Kalamazoo, MI area and it is still worth the trip. I have friends that come from other states to meet at Fernwood for the day. It is a wonderful retreat for the heart and soul. I have been there during every season and have never been disappointed. There is always something of beauty in the garden areas and even the winter has it's own beauty. The grounds cover so many different types of terrain, from grass prairie to small gardens. From ponds and small streams and waterfalls to the river. The gift shop has always been a delight for shopping unique nature gifts. The staff is friendly and helpful. The cafe now has a professional chef and new special cooking classes. The programs are very good and interesting. This year they had an outside model railroad display that our grandchildren loved as well as grandpa. I loved sharing this with my children and now their children as well as friends and their families. It has been a great place to introduce the children to nature at it's finest and great fun in the woods. They will even be very quiet in the woods in case there is a bird, animal or bug they might be able to watch. There are many programs of music, flowers, art, crafts and nature offered at Fernwood. Now there are special meals and cooking classes. The nature walks are awesome on the many different trails. There is an interesting nature building for watching birds, displays of animals and insects and hands on displays for the children. The plants and trees are labeled so you can learn as you walk. It is my favorite place in the world.”
Strikers Entertainment Center
“Great place. I love their cheeseburgers. Always friendly service.”
American Campgrounds Inc
“Awesome, my favorite campground.”
Continental Lanes & Golf Club
“Overpriced bowling lanes. AMF machines that break down a lot. Plus I was on two leagues there one in 2002 and one in 2009 where they do not regulate how many drinks someone has both times resulting in heated arguments and or fights in the parking lot.”
Northway Lanes
“Our family went bowling for the first time in years. We had a great time. North way Lanes offers cosmic bowling for families on Saturday afternoons. The kids really loved it. We appreciated having a family restroom for my toddler and it was very clean. I'm sure the kids will want to bowl at North way Lanes again soon.”
Providence Hospital & Med Ctrs
“I was there for four days, and saw a lot of different nurses. Only one of them treated me like a human being. The rest were rude, indifferent and acted like they hated their jobs. Not only was the staff incredibly unfriendly, but the facilities weren't accommodating. They weren't comfortable or all that clean, in my opinion.”
Bronco Lanes
“Clean bathroom attended a fundraising event. The staff was unreal real service provided.”
Northway Lanes
“I take my kids bowling 2 or 3 times a year and I finally found a bowling alley where it doesn't reek of smoke! We went to Northway Lanes in Muskegon and they have non-smoking bowling all day on Saturdays. The place was so clean compared to other places we've been. My kids want to join a bowling league now and they offer several days. It's about 15 minutes from our house but it's close to the highway.”

“I have visited several times and gave great reviews. Unfortunately, our visit on 9-7-09 was quite poor. All of the Iguana cages were closed down. Several areas animals were not seen. Appearance of butterfly house was poor. In the animal petting area, the employee of Wilderness Trail gave no greeting to visitors and instructions regarding what the children were allowed to do with the animals. She opened up the gate for the donkey stall, told children to enter. He was acting jumpy, like he was going to kick. I then heard her make a rude statement to one of the concerned child's grandmother when she was asking the child to come out. It appeared that the donkey was backing the child to back of fence. The rude statement aimed at the grandmother resulted in a curse word and the employee rudely demanded the grandmother to leave. She appeared unfriendly from the beginning and not qualified to work with children. As leaving, I then overheard the grandmother talking with a manager who appeared unconcerning and basically stating, well, I'm sorry. My family, friends, and I from Clio, Grand Blanc, and Burton, will not be returning.”
Holiday Shores Campground
“Retiree Park not for families with young children. Great if your retired and like to sleep all day, park was dead. No activities for the young or young at heart.”
American Campgrounds Inc
“The salesman said we could go on the spur of the moment (sometimes we get a Friday off, and have a long weekend) wrong! You have to make a reservation and whenever you call, if you're lucky enough to actually have someone answer the phone, they are full! It sure isn't worth the money if you can't ever go! What are we paying this for?”

“Pulling into the campground it seemed very nice and very shaded. As we drove through looking for our spot we noticed that most of the sites were long term renters and the sites seemed pretty close together. When we finally found our spot it was an all dirt one that was about 3 feet shorter than our trailer. We stuck out into the street. It was also tightly wedged between another camping spot and just a few feet away from a cabin. There was barely enough room for our awning. For $13 extra per night for the kids and a dog I wasn't impressed with staying in a too small mud pit for our vacation. We weren't moved to another site so we went to another campground instead. They did refund the fees though so it wasn't a total loss. Other sites did look better so you may have a better experience than we did.”
Holiday Shores Campground
“We found this park to be overall neat and clean. There was a lack of staff to help with continues power outages and no water. Neither problem was weather related. No restrooms or showers, so must be self-contained. Golf course is fine if you like dealing with nothing but wind; it's next to the I69 expressway. 9 holes with 18 hole price!”
Fremont Lanes Inc
“Excellent facilities & friendly staff. Great prices.”
American Campgrounds Inc
“I am a happy camper myself though!”
American Campgrounds Inc
“Not good, goose poop everywhere. Lake is slimy. Help is rude. No real security, help is volunteer help.”

“This course is as a Golf Digest four and a half star course, but they must be joking. Although there is nothing terribly wrong with it, it is one of the most boringly average courses I've ever played. I could name at least thirty courses in Michigan that are more fun to play than Hunter's Ridge. To top it off, they have a surly old lady in the snack bar that was doing her best to drive away customers the day we were there. Save your time driving to middle of nowhere.”

“Upon arrival the general manager is not there. What makes it more troubling is the staff had no clue nor explanation as to when she would arrive. Never before have I dealt with such an staff.”
Pine Hills Golf Course
“I can hardly wait to be back in 2009.”
Northfield Lanes
“During the day there is no open bowling and its hard to find a ball thats 14 lbs. or more.”
White Pine Psychiatric Center
“Awesome staff.”
Astro Lanes Inc
“Astro lanes is a family friendly facility. Many different open lane times at a fair price. Brian in the pro shop is great for lessons, and does a great job of fitting equipment to you. It is one of the few places where you can still bowl on wooden lanes. If you like a challenge it is a great place.”
Wagon Wheel Bar
“NA.”
American Campgrounds Inc
“I am definitely a fan of A.C.I., I have only been a member for 1 year now, but before I purchased my membership I researched every Coast to Coast campground in the Midwest A.C.I. is not only the best place to purchase a membership, but they are the largest home park system in the program. They now have 11 free parks for you to use, any others around my area only offer 3 at the most. Also with the economy the way it is I wanted a park with a good track record, A.C.I. has been in Coast to Coast longer than any system in the country. I did more research on this than I have done since I had my first child, I suggest you do your own research though. FYI go to all the other parks first, I know for a fact that no one will stick to their today only except A.C.I., so get their info first then go there last, I did and it was well worth it. Hope to see you this summer!”

“While not being the greatest golf course in the region, it is one the most affordable for 18. Torre Golf Management has slowly brought this course back to life after the one year House Maintenance group near ran it into the ground. Greens aren't the fastest, but are always in good shape. Sometimes it will flood after a heavy rain, so beware! Overall, I enjoy each time I play there.”
Oak Shores Campground
“We when there for a week, (my family) and we loved it. We liked the paved road, so we could ride our bikes. The pool was clean and the bathroom & shower was clean. They had games that the kids could use, basketball, shuffle board, and there was a lot for the kids to do. Some of the staff could be rude but most was nice the kids could draw on the road and there was trail they could ride the bike on and riding the golf carts didn't bother us and everyone that came by us waved, so yes we would go back.”
Northern Lanes Recreation Inc
“Very nice people and nice set up! Great place to go. I've been going there since I was two!”
Northern Lanes Recreation Inc
“Not a bad bowling alley. Plenty of leagues and open bowling to tend to both casual and competitive. Service seems to be a bit slow at times though.”
Astro Lanes Inc
“This place is simply the best! The rates are unbeatable and the service is excellent! This is my bowling ally of choice!”
300 Bowl Action Center
“Poor staff, but very nice lanes. They do not have good daytime specials, but do have great equipment and seating arrangements.”
Century Bowl
“The seating area is not the greatest, but they definitely have the best that I have found around this area. The specials start late, but as long as you get there, before 4:30 on a weekday, you will pay $1.79 a game all night.”
Edward W. Sparrow Hospital Association
“I did enjoy the elevator ride from the parking garage.”
Grand Blanc Golf & Country Club, Inc
“If you like rude and unprofessional staff, then you should love Grand Blanc Golf and Country Club. My best friend recently got married and decided to have the reception there. I have to say, the place is very beautiful, but within the first half hour, guests were coming up to the bridal party table in droves to tell us exactly how rude the staff was being. The bride had instructed that just the bar be shut down during dinner, but they were giving guests problems about even serving them water or other non alcoholic beverages during dinner. How many people do you know that like to eat without having something to wash it down? Closing the bar down should not have caused people to not be able to drink during dinner. The young female bartender behind the bar was consistently unprofessional and kept giving people attitude. The head chef that was working that evening even told guests you guys are me! This was told to them when they were simply asking for water with dinner. Gee, not that hard of a problem to find a solution for! Get some pictures and have your staff pass them out to each table. Then as if the rudeness wasn't bad enough, they closed the bar down a half hour early stating that the police had already been there. I thought that that seemed awfully strange seeing as it was one of the tamest wedding receptions I had ever been too. No one was acting crazy, no one was being belligerent, no one was sick. I didn't see where the problem was, so I simply asked "What? Why were the police here?" The response I got from the head cook insulted me greatly. He mocked me to my face and in front of many wedding party guests including the bride and groom. His response went something like this "What? Don't you what me!" I couldn't believe my ears. The bride had to check him on the fact that he had no right to be rude to me. When asked to explain why he was closing the bar down early to the bride. He stated that "we couldn't just to expect to come into somewhere and drink all of their liquor. Interesting seeing as the bride and groom paid to have an open bar! My suggestion to anyone thinking about using the Grand Blanc Golf and Country Club for any kind of important event would be to not do it. If you do, please be sure that you state you are paying for an open bar. Read the contract carefully. I think that if they thought an individual had had too much to drink it would have been a lot better to cut that specific individual off. Instead, they cutoff the whole party. Not the greatest thing to do to a bride and groom on their wedding night. You be the judge!”

“The staff was wonderful, but I felt like a number within the system. Nothing was personalized, the food was terrible, management was invisible, and morale seemed to be low within the staff. On top of that the equipment was ancient and they hooked me to a big machine on wheels to look at my heart rhythm because they didn't have enough portable boxes! Honestly that's just the beginning. I can't even begin to complain enough. The nursing staff is the only reason this place got a score at all!”
Thunderbowl Lanes
“The management and staff leave doors propped open with the AC running, causing the whole place to be hot and waste energy. The place feels like a gaping hole in the wall and attracts similar clientele.”
Holiday Shores Campground
“This is one of the best places to spend your summers and/or a week or two. We have been in campgrounds all over the country and this was and still is one of the best places to camp. While they may not have some of the facilities i.e., bath houses and laundry. It is not an issue for us as we have these facilities on our coach. There is a wonderful and challenging nine hole golf course attached to the campground. The entire facilities are well groomed and maintained.”
Brower Park
“My family and I camp at Brower all the time; it's the best place on the river to camp! We love it!”
Newberry Koa Kampground
“There are no planned children's activities, hayride, corn roast or community campfire. However, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, great location to do daytrips from (Mackinac Island, Sault Ste Marie are only 1 hr away). Our campsite was nice and the kids loved the pool. Showers and laundry facilities were a nice feature too, however showers were not very clean and getting hot water was hit or miss.”
Oak Shores Campground
“Wouldn't go back. Not family friendly. No fun allowed. Looks beautiful, but looks are deceiving!”
Oak Shores Campground
“The staff at the campground yanked a toy from a friend of mine who was playing with his son, she had no compassion and told him if he didn't like it to get out (this was at the pool) where they state its the law that floaties, toys and life jackets are illegal to utilize in the pool. I have looked up the law and found no such thing. The lady truly had no reason or right to snatch this from anyone and then she did not enforce the law for everyone. another child had a life jacket on, even though she said they are illegal and apparently you can wear arm floaties but cannot use a ring, or life jacket. I would not recommend this to anyone. Rude!”
Howell Depot Museum
“This is the best restaurant in the world if you haven't gone there yet drop whatever your doing and go.”

“Loved it.”
Bucks Run Golf Club
“Ambience was nice - we ate on the veranda overlooking a great view of the pretty golf course. Food was something else. Six of us ate there. Two ordered steak done medium. One of the steaks was so overcooked it looked burned. The other had no pink at all. Three of us ordered lake perch. It was obviously ocean perch, a cheaper fish. Only one person was satisfied with their meal. The French fries and garlic mashed potatoes were good. We talked to the manager about the steaks and he apologized, but did not give any discount for them. The server was pleasant, but inattentive. She was not around early in the meal to send the steaks back, so the people finally just ate them.”
5 Star Lanes, Inc
“5-Star Lanes is an awesome place to be. Ive been their variety of times and not once was I sick of it. It is a place to be to shake off all your stress. If you are in a group of people or by yourself it is really enjoyable and not to expensive.”
Grandview Golf Course
“Great value! Back to back par 5's on 16 & 17 are demanding.”
Lansing Cottonwood Campground
“The first thing he did when he pulled up to our campsite was started cussing in front of everyone, remind you we had four children their and he uses the lords name in vain. He didn't even give us a chance to get everyone else situated and up to the front desk to register. Instead of approaching the situation in a grown up way he just started lashing out and cussing, and was in a bad mood because he was working a holiday. They have no idea the people and business they are going to miss out on now. It ruined the kids whole day but we made the best it. So if your looking for a campground takes my word for it, I'd rather drive three more hours then ever refer anyone to that campsite.”

“It is a great place to bowl, great environment, friendly service.”
