  • Many beautiful things!
  • Tough to think of any!

“Love this place! Bought the most beautiful concrete piece modified for a lamp. Would have bought so much more if I didn't have to carry it on a plane! Can't wait to go back next visit!”

Museum Of West Louisiana
Apr 7, 2009 by Susan from The Woodlands, TX

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Variety of items.
  • A bit crowded.

“We made a quick stop in the museum last month looking for family history. Plus the depot where the museum is housed would be the very one where my mom arrived in Leesville in 1921! The folks there were so helpful. Due to space constraints, the collection is crowded; but the variety of items and the friendly people more than made up for that.”

  • We were the last tour, the book store closed. Should have bought on the way in.

“A great introduction to the French Quarter, architecturally and historically speaking. The guides are the best and very knowledgeable. I learn something every time I go.”

New Orleans Pharmacy Museum
Jan 31, 2009 by Jimmy from Anniston, AL

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Very interesting to see.

“You thought that medicine was crude now. This museum shows the Good Ole Days when hacksaws and poisons were used, along with leeches. By the way, the leeches still grace the counter swimming around in a jar (I never turned my back to them). A typical operating room of the era is upstairs. It's a neat place to visit, although they won't let me try any of the medicine. The third time was the charm for us.”

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2

  • Water slide was nice.
  • Friendliness of the owner / management.

“I went to visit my family who was camping at land o pines. The facilities were dirty and the old man who runs the place is apparently an old marine who hassles people for going above the 5 mph speed limit. (My car does not start registering speed until 10mph) so one would figure half way between 0 and 10 would be 5mph. apparently in his world 5mph is different from the rest of the rational world. If he would have been polite about the matter it would have been different but alas he was not.”

Sam's Town Hotel & Casino
Jun 2, 2008 by Bob from Dallas, Texas

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Nothing.
  • Everything.

“Sam's Town International Buffet only. Wait staff: Slow and seemingly uncaring. Dishes: Dirty. Roaches: Can be seen on the service line in and around the dishes. Management: Uncaring when a patron makes a comment that should be resolved. Location of Dining Room: Immediately under the hotel swimming pool, the management kept the dining room open while the pool water was leaking like a waterfall from the ceiling. They had five people constantly mopping trying to keep the flood from spreading to the entire hotel/casino. Patrons and personnel were joking about being compared to the Las Vegas Dancing Waters. Food: Either very hot and you can burn yourself while helping your plate, or very very dehydrated from being on the line too long. Recipes: Most food is good if served while fresh. Value: If you are over 50, the mgmt offers to 50% off if you pay in cash. If you are over 50, this is not a bad meal if you get it while fresh. Hours of operation: The cashier's will allow you to stand in-line for 10-20 minutes before getting to the register, then take your money, and at that time they will advise you that you will be asked to vacate the dining room at 4:00 p.m. and that the food will be removed from the line at 3:45 p.m. If you have been in line since 2:55 p.m., get the cashier at 3:10 p.m., then stand in-line to be seated by a seating hostess. only to wait another 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge that yo are waiting for a table along with 8 other people. Security staff: When you make a comment about having to wait 10 minutes for a table when there are many vacant tables in the dining room, the server complains to mgmt which calls security who shows up to demand that you leave b because you are trespassing. Since we had just started eating, we were shocked and startled at the request. When asked what initiated the demand, we were told that I had threatened a wait person. I suggested that they review the security cameras and that they would see that no such threat happened. We were told that I did not need to tell them how to do their job and that we would leave One way or the other. Beware - No freedom of speech in Sam's Town !”

  • Hotel was nice.
  • NO casino to speak of; rather tiny slot machine parlor. Seems to be the body formula. Cheap money maker for them, no fun for you.

“Hotel was nice, but they need to add a casino! Tiny gaming area, or should I say slot machine parlor. If you are looking for a real casino, steer clear of Shreveport.”

Surgical Specialty Centre LLC
Mar 31, 2008 by Nicole from Baton Rouge

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5

  • The staff was very friendly and helpful.
  • My calls didn't not seem important and that was little to no action on my calls.

“I brought my son there for a broken arm and they fitted me in pretty quickly. The staff was very nice and helpful considering my child was so young and hyper. They attempted to secure his arm from harm and were not as successful as I hoped. The person who did the cast, grant it, was very nice but with the baby being so active his cast fell off less than 24 hours after having it put on. We go back in to have another cast put on and the same day it begins to shred away. I called that same day saying that it was starting to unravel. I put some tape on it as instructed. The next day I noticed that the tape was lower than the day before and his fingers were partially missing. The cast was sliding down again. I was told that it will adjust to his arm and not to worry because of the angle that it was at, it would not come off. Friday my daycare called me and said that my son was extremely fussy and grabbing at his arm. By this point, his thumb was completely in the cast and it was sliding further. I brought him immediately (which the staff was nice enough to see him so late). I was told that nothing could be done and that I had an appt on Monday to just come in then. When I came in on Monday, he had an x-ray. This x-ray shows that his arm had attached crooked (pretty basically leaving him with two elbows). I am furious. So displeased not at the staff but at the fact that I called so much due to the fussiness and have taken off work to have this issue fixed over and over; now surgery. I have lost a child before due to lack of care from physicians. I am not saying that the doctor did not care, as I said before, the staff was very friendly, but I do not appreciate that this could have been avoided. I would recommend the facility but I don't think that I would bring him back there. As I was told by the doctor, "This is not the end of the world", in reference to that statement made to me today, "You are correct, this is not the end of the world, but this is my child whom is my world".”

Stonebridge Golf Club
Dec 3, 2007 by Brian from Pittsburgh

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • I never had to look far for the yardage.
  • Nothing noted, except a few signs direction you could be nice.

“This course is beautiful with massive tiered greens that hold and put as true as or truer than any I have been on, and I have been all over golfing in Hawaii and the Dunes in Murtle Beach. This course is very challenging requiring the player to make golf shots but is absolutely fair. The houses surrounding the course are never in play and never in your view when making shots. I loved the course and considering the people, views, play and even the courteous residents of the houses, this course is a 10 and must play.”

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Like everything. The clubhouse was even awesome.
  • Don't really know of anything negative that I experienced

“Has to be the finest Course in Shreveport/Bossier - when I played last weekend. The Fairways were awesome, Greens were awesome and the degree of difficulty made me feel I was for sure on a PGA Course. Freddie couples certainly laid this course out beautifully. To me, it's the most challenging and enjoyable course I have ever played on. And now they are getting air conditioned cart, and I can not wait to try them out in August, when it's usually too hot to play.”

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park
Jun 12, 2007 by GLORIA from OAKDALE LA

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Friendly staff, safe environment, plenty to do.
  • Need more huge fish in pond loll.

“Oh my gosh what is there not to say about this fabulous place! We discovered yogi about 2 yrs ago. I have two boys 9 and 8. Until they slap tell me mom I don't want to go. This is where we will vacation all the time. It is the whole families dream. There is swimming, fishing, canoes, peddle boats, planned activities for the whole family from arts and crafts, to games, to just cutting up with the staff. We are going for the 4th of July weekend and hopefully they will have their new water slide and fountain play ground ready. The staff is the friendliest people you will ever meet. We have a blast every time we go. A super plus is I don't worry at all about my kids while they are there. The staff knows who they are and they watch them as close as I would. It is safe and solo kid friendly. Another thing I like is it is small enough that everyone knows everyone that is if you get out and mingle. I love going there. Cabins are very clean and nice. Can't say enough well about this fabulous spot. Would go every weekend if I had the time.”

Kegler Lanes
Jun 4, 2007 by Heather from GR, MI

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • The grill. The jukebox. The fun.
  • Nothing negative.

“I don't know what it's like now, but Kegler's rocked in the late 1960's. My friends and I were on Saturday leagues and our parents were on Friday night leagues, so we spent the weekend there nearly. There was an awesome grill and snack bar and pool tables. The jukebox only cost a dime for three songs or maybe it was five. Nothing like hearing the doors boom through two stories of bowling alley, along with the crack of the pins. Ah, some of the best days of my life. It's a piece of Morgan city history.”

Abbey Youth Camp
Apr 4, 2007 by Critter from Houma

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • A life-long memorable Christian experience that every girl should know and cherish.
  • Going home! Well, now. No more camp abbey.

“I felt as someone. A part of me died when I heard camp was closed. My daughter and I cried for an hour. Camp abbey was a big part of my childhood, and I carried it onto my children. I went to camp for 8 years, and was a counselor for 4 years. My 2 oldest children have been lucky to have a chance to experience it, even as a counselor. I am so disappointed that my younger children will never be able to share with us the heart felt memories of the days at camp. I truly believe that camp abbey helped me to become the person I am today. My daughter and I both talk about how we never wanted to leave camp, or the friends we made there. It was always an emotional time that last night, and morning going home.”

Education America-Southeast College Of Technology, L L C
Feb 14, 2007 by Disapointed from New Orleans

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • The instructors were very qualified.
  • Too many students per classroom.

“Do not waste your money on this type of so called college. All they want is your money. The class rooms are jam packed with 30 or more students at one time. They didn't follow any text books throughout the entire course. Approximately 95% of the students that attended class on a regular basis made no effort to learn anything. I was one of about 6 students that showed up every day and made every minute count by learning as much as we could in the short amount of time we had. The problem was that 95% of the students that slacked off every day by just playing around and surfing on the interned never learning anything and just slowed the whole class down. The problem was the school didn't really care if we actually learned anything just as long as we paid the tuition on time. The instructors should have had more control over the students that disrupted the classroom and should have had the disruptive students thrown out.”

Anthony Bean Community Theater
Aug 7, 2006 by Ruth from Baltimore

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • The connections between the love for music between generations.
  • The seating was not the most comfortable, but worth it for the show.

“On Sunday, August 6, I was able to see the final performance of the ABCT kids summer program -- 'Annie Mae's Cafe' and 'Shut Up 'n Dance.' It was packed to standing room with adults and kids. The costumes and stage set were so good -- if you can imagine 8- to 18-year-olds in dress of the 1940s to 1960s, lip-synching with heartfelt emotion to songs like Otis Redding's 'I've Been Loving You' and Etta James' 'Don't Cry Baby,' among 21 others. The audience added a whole dimension to the performances, with the adults enjoying the added pleasure of watching the younger generation perform familiar songs cherished during younger days. When the play opened, the kids sat on a stoop, two of them complaining about staying with an uncle post-hurricane who listened to the blues all day long. They were upset because the blues music sounded so sad. The uncle walked by and talked about how he had lost his record player in the storm and couldn't play his old blues records with. He takes the kids to a special place where they could only go if they set aside their minds and felt with their hearts. The rest of the play is a lesson in the blues and what it means to feel the blues. As the kids performed on stage the audience, especially adults, laughed, clapped, whooped and shouted out to the players, "Go on, girl" and "Boys, it's going to be okay!" The audience reaction was just as much fun and part of the show as the performances. They also sang along. The two ladies sitting next to me commented during intermission that it was nice to see these young kids appreciating the blues, and learning -- with their hearts -- about the music their parents and grandparents loved. The entire second play was rap and hip-hop music, which possibly shocked the adults after the slower pace of the first play. 'Shut Up 'N Dance' was performed fully through dance and gesture -- no speech. It was a cool contract to see the hip-hop dance and the talent of the dancers.”

The Zoo Of Acadiana Inc

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • The shade and size of the zoo.
  • The size of cages and lack of cleanliness.

“This is a great little zoo. It is perfect for short or long visits and great for those very young or those a little older. The only reason I give the zoo and 8 is because the size of the cages some of the animals are in and the fact some of them are not so cleanly. The zoo itself is VERY shady so even on those hot days the heat is tolerable.”

  • Historical, diffrent, imaginative
  • Slightly morbid

“After you get over your inital shock that it is a cemetry, the only words that can be used to discribe this place is mysticly beautiful. Its lets your imagination play away, but you alway remeber that real people, familys are buried here. Its stunning marble and the epataphs are moving. Everyone should go see it because no one else honors their dead like this. I would love to have spent more time there, but they close extremly early(2:30 ct) so if you want to spend a good amount of time their plan accordingly. It is also very intresting that Interview with a Vampire and other movies have been shot at this cemetry.”
