Camp Pokamoke
May 12, 2009 by Taylor from Springfield

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • A lot of team building things.
  • There isn't anything I don't like.

“I love camp and everyone and every thing out there was like home to me. I have never seen something or heard of something that I did not like. The People out there were great along with the horses. They are expanding the camp and the groups in the camp.”

  • Nothing.
  • The owner.

“Out of all the bowling alleys in Dubuque, bowling and beyond is just a Dump. And the owner is not a very nice person. Please go to any other bowling alley.”

Colonial Lanes
Feb 21, 2009 by G from Chicago

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2

  • Well maintained lanes.
  • Close too early. Discourage evening business.

“Decent, well maintained lanes. They have a bad habit of closing early, even when there are a lot of bowlers. It makes me want to take my business elsewhere, but there aren't many options.”

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Low admission - well worth the visit.
  • Can't think of any.

“The museum offers a variety of artifacts from Madison County. The staff is very helpful and friendly. If you have time to pack a lunch it's the perfect place to spend the day! The grounds are beautiful with 18 acres and 14 buildings to discover. Well worth the trip.”

Camp Pokamoke
Jan 7, 2009 by Taylor from Smith

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Stress free and fun place to go.
  • Hot temps in the summer, but that can be found anywhere.

“I have been going to camp for almost 8 or 9 years now! I love it! There isn't any other place on earth where I feel heartbroken when the summer comes to an end. To me Pokamoke is home, I feel at peace when I go onto camp. Any child who loves outdoors will love this camp, they don't even have to like horses. There are things for everyone to do and nothing is ever boring there. I would send my child there in a heartbeat!”

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Friendly staff.
  • Only 5 theatres (but it is a small town).

“I found the Carroll Five Theatres to be a nice informal theatre. I felt the price was reasonable compared to Kansas City prices and the atmosphere was cozy. The staff was very friendly and overall my visit was great.”

Camp Pokamoke
Aug 6, 2008 by Kelli from Omaha,NE

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • I get to ride horses at a walk, trot, canter and even gallop.
  • Some days my horse is a little stubborn or cranky.

“It's an amazing place. I've gone there for 7 years (since I was 7) and I love the horses there. It's a great environment. Anyone who has a child who enjoys horses, hiking, biking or just anything to do with the out doors would love camp. It's such an awesome place and it keeps me out of trouble. I really do love it. It's the only camp where I can ride on my own, and I make such an amazing bond with the horse and my counselor. It's a perfect place for a kid to learn the rules and still have fun.”

Carroll Five Theaters
May 30, 2008 by Amber from Carroll

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • Small city.
  • Bad theater.

“This theater seats are not very comfortable. You can hear the trains out side. They serve old popcorn. Prices are to high for a town. They act like they're a high class Theater when they are not. I would not recommend this Theater.”

Camp Pokamoke
May 29, 2008 by Michelle from Omaha

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7

  • Fun experience.
  • Cold pool.

“My 5 year old went to Camp Pocomoke for her first camp experience. She enjoyed the day camp experience and wants to go again. She is looking forward to being old enough for the horse camp. I do have a concern on why they allowed 5 years olds to choose whether or not they wanted to swim in 50 degree weather?! I don't know why this would even be an option for a 5 year old to make. Advice to other parents: don't pack a swim suit unless the temperature is reasonable for swimming.”

30 Lanes
Mar 14, 2008 by michaelvellie from Greenwood SC

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • Brunswick synthetic.
  • No open bowling.

“The only thing good about the place is that they have Brunswick synthetic. The bad news is, if you are from out of town looking for a place to bowl; not just here but anywhere around Davenport, IA there is never any open bowling. Even if 6 or 7 lanes are open, there is no open bowling during leagues (which is everyday of the week).”

Des Moines West Koa
Jan 29, 2008 by Nick from Quartzsite

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • The best KOA we've ever been in!
  • Nothing!

“We stay at this Campground/RV park every year and have watched it improve 110% since the new owners came in about 5 years ago. We have a 42-ft 5th wheel and have no problems fitting our rig in the sites. The facilities are spotless and the grounds are immaculate. I don't think Ive ever seen so much green grass at a campground. We highly recommend this park to everyone from tenders to coaches. They have accommodated us as we have grown from a tent to a 5th wheel.”

Diamond Jo Casino
Oct 31, 2007 by James from Gulfport, FL

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • The person who took out reservation was great.
  • I liked leaving never to return.

“Four of us made our fourth trip to Diamond Jo. This trip one member of our party was refused entry because some rent a cop at the door thought he was "impaired". We tried to discuss the problem with him but he wanted to show his power and called for back up. Four men in ill fitting suits and cheap haircuts showed up. Two of them threw open their jackets so as to show off their shields and guns. It so happens that my friend who was denied entry and I are retired law enforcement officers and carried gun longer (over thirty five years) then these barney fife want be's have been on the planet. We left and vow never to return. As an aside my friend had exactly two bottles of beer when he was turned away. Take my advice and stay away from this poorly run dump.”

Walnut Acres Campground
Jul 23, 2007 by davey

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Liked the campground.
  • Hated the staff and the way we were treated.

“Walnut Acres is a very nice campground, but the staff is horrible. To get in you have to have a pass that says you're able to, so therefore you cannot have any visitors. My kids wanted to come in and see my wife and me but they had to go far so much and end up walking about a mile just to see us. They were very rude and I would never go back.”

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Overall kid¿s campus is the best childcare center in the cedar rapids area!
  • They are not opened on weekends.

“My children love kid¿s campus! The activities are aimed for education, growth and creativity! The building is kept clean and neat, as well as safe. My kids come home happy and ready to show me the art project that they worked on or the favorite game they plaid. The staff are experienced and trained! Jul 9, 2006 by summer from Davenport

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Fast and Friendly.
  • Everything was great no complaints.

“First Med is a health care facility for emergencies and takes no appointments. Every time I have gone I've waited maybe 30 minutes tops to be seen. All the staff are friendly and the care is excellent. If you ever have a medical problem and need to be seen right away first med is the place to go.”

Camp Pokamoke
Jun 11, 2006 by Sandra from Omaha

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • I liked every thing about it.
  • Nothing is negative about this place.

“ I went to camp Pokamoke for a week and I'm going back in a few weeks! Ya, that's how good it is! The counselors there are really fun and energetic, I was a wrangler. and I'm going to be a wrangler again just so I can get the same counselor. If you send your kid there I am 100% sure that they will have the best time ever! But, when you go there be sure to bring lots of water and a sack lunch. It gets really, really warm out there, and you don't want to get caught without water on a hot summer day! Sign up for camp pokamoke TODAY!”
