Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Feeding the horses, the pool, the open space, and the band at the pavilion.
  • The miniature golf is okay, fun to do once with your kids.

“One of the best campgrounds for kids in Indiana. Large pool, horse and goat feeding and petting for the kids, paved roads, fishing pond, entertainment pavilion with live bands on the weekends, ice cream and snack shop, camp store, miniature golf, a trolley in the summer to tour the park on, large open fields for big RVs and room for the kids to play, fireworks in the summer sometimes, the best Halloween haunted house ever, great owners, basketball courts, really close to Bass Lake and an outdoor drive-in movie theater, close to good shopping for campers in Winamac (5 minutes down the road) and close to Tippecanoe River State Park, fun for the family. We've been all over the country with our travel trailer and this is in our top 5 of RV parks (yeah, it's a shocker to us too). This thing is on par with Mt. Rushmore KOA and Yellowstone National Park's Fishing Bridge RV Resort for amenities on-site. We even had trouble with our furnace last year and they sent a repairman out who fixed it and wouldn't take the money I tried to pay him for helping us out. Not that that's normal, but it happened for us. Great people camp there too. Tons and tons of kids playing everywhere, very safe environment. Can't recommend it enough. You might overlook this one because they don't have a website, but you shouldn't. We're picky campers and we Love Broken Arrow. Going there next week again for a week when we could have chosen anywhere to camp.”

“Deer track is the worst course I have ever played the rough was so deep you could not even see your feet when you stood in it. The greens were covered in clumps of dirt and there was a lot of grass missing.”

  • The rude, unfriendliness of the employees.

“The employees at this Bowling Alley are very rude and had a problem with us as soon as we walked in the door. The Bowling Alley is small and shabby with only a few lanes. I will never go here again and would not recommend this place to anyone. If you want to go to a friendly, nice Bowling Alley there is Expo Bowl and Beech Grove Bowl on the Southside of Indianapolis.”

  • Interesting and fun.
  • Greens could be in better shape--can loose a lot of golf balls.

“We have enjoyed playing here this year. I won't say it is as perfect, but it is a great course. Very challenging--you better stay on the fairway or bring a lot of golf balls. It is also interesting--not just a flat course. Although, I'm sure this may not be a priority for many golfers, I love the trees and woodsy feel.”

  • Good karaoke. Ok prices.
  • Terrible owner, very smoky.

“I went to this place two weekends in a row to enjoy there karaoke. The first time was great the second time not so good. The men who do the karaoke are awesome and do a great job but the owner of this bar is terrible. He shouldn't be open and nobody should contribute to his business. The night started well the second weekend but soon we realized people were leaving and there was nobody left. Why? The owner wanted more music played and less karaoke which is why so many people go Friday nights. It got to be 1 AM which is when the karaoke is suppose to end and my husband was doing one last requested song. After he was done I sat to wait for the rest of the people I was with to get ready to leave and the owner, which we already knew was extremely drunk started yelling Thats it, no more, everyone get out. I couldn't believe it. I said something under my breathe and my husband snapped and said we would never go back to his nasty bar and we only came to see these two guys karaoke. It was unbelievable. I strongly don't encourage people to go here since this man needs to be put out of business..”

“Broken Arrow is awesome, we go often they have the best fireworks I have ever seen, they have them several times a year also, they are the absolute best fireworks. The camp ground is very friendly, they have allot to do on the weekends Bands, Karaoke and DJ's are always playing in the Big Barn. What a great place to go, the bathrooms sometimes are messy but that is due to the people who camp there and can't take care of there own messes. Great Job to the owners keep up the good work.”

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2

  • Challenging due to narrow fairways.
  • Very poor course conditions.

“It really doesn't get much worse. The greens had giant chunks of grass missing and massive ruts and gashes as if someone drove a monster truck with an anchor attached to the back across the green. The course needed a cutting. The fairways were longer than desired and the rough was ridiculous. I had to actually remove a clump of grass shavings off of my ball on a fairway. I couldn't find a single sprinkler yardage marker on any of the tee boxes and the yardage/color of the tee boxes didn't match up so when teeing off it is up to the golfer to estimate the yardage.”

Village Bowl
May 14, 2008 by Nick from Fort Wayne

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • Good specials.
  • Poor lane conditions.

“This center gets mixed reviews. They offer fairly good specials and you can get a lot of bowling in for less money. However, with less money comes suffering quality. Village Bowl has always been known for its inconsistent shot and rare lane oiling. This lack of maintenance threatens to drive the lanes into disrepair, as they are already 30 years old. Since it has come under new management in the past couple years, very little has been done to improve this center, while allot of costs have been cut. Overall, this is a place for families to come and bowl a few games and have fun. If you are a serious bowler, I wouldn't suggest coming here as you are likely to bowl on lanes that haven't been oiled in a few days and have quite a high number of games bowled on them. You might as well just bowl on your driveway for all it matters.”

  • They are closed on Sundays.

“I can't believe The Orchard Gallery has been around for almost 25 years, and I have just recently discovered it! It is a co-op gallery, so each time I visit, there is an artist working to patiently answer my questions. There is beautiful jewelry, pottery and glass, along with paintings on the walls. From what I understand, most of the art is made locally, but some from different parts of the country, as well. I had no idea there was so much talent in Fort Wayne! I have visited the gallery 3 times in the last 6 months they change the show every month, so it's fun to see what's new! Always friendly.”

“Country lanes are the best place to bowl. I have moved to central Illinois and plan to drive 85 miles to bowl league there next year because nothing around here compares. The owner of country lanes used to bowl pro so she listens to what her customers have to say about the lanes and will actually make changes. I bowled on a league there for three years and there is much more fun than just bowling. When I changed to bowling reactive, she took the time to teach me everything I know and didn't try to force me to bowl her way. She helped me build on what was comfortable for me.”

While the technology has been upgraded and they are playing newly released movies, the owners have managed to retain the feel of the original movie going experience. During the summer they also offer a free movie camp for the kids on Wednesday mornings. Good people, good movies. If you get to Batesville, you have to check it out.”

Harrison County Hospital
Jun 8, 2007 by S from Brandenburg

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Staff- everyone is very kind and helpful.
  • Err is just bays not closed rooms, will be changing soon though with new hospital.

“Harrison county hospital is by far the best hospital around. I have had experiences with every department there including ob, err, ice, medical surgery. The ob department has the greatest bunch of nurses and mud's around. I had one of my children here and the other at Norton's downtown and each kept me and my family informed. Kept me comfortable after my section, I did not have to buzz for my nurses over and over like at Norton's. The even catered to my daughter who was 4 when I delivered my son by bringing her ice cream when I had that on my dinner tray. The err has by far the best wait time compared to others in this area, if you are really sick you are in a bed the instant you get there. If you are sick but not really bad you will never wait more than 2 hours like at Floyd or harden memorial where you can be having a stroke and will sit in the waiting room for hours and hours on end. The ice staff is caring and compassionate nurses who really know how to comfort the family when there are so unfortunately to have a family member in there. The medical surgery staff is incredible! My grandmother recently passed away at which and while we were there on and off for months the last stay lasted about 1 week. She was in a private room and my grandfather, my father and my uncle, my grandmothers only 2 sons stayed at her bedside night and day the staff there would bring them blankets make sure that they were taken care of had coffee brought to them in the mornings, tea in the afternoons, when they did step out which did not happen often the staff would make sure that someone was in there to check on my grandmother often and if anything changed they did not hesitate to call. When my grandmother passed the mad held my grandfather up and stood with us for a long time. They gave us as much time as we needed with her after she passed so we could all say our goodbyes. This hospital no matter what anyone says was the best place in the world when it came to our final days with my grandmother. Though ever visit may not be wonderful, think of it this way when you are at the top of your emotional roller coaster and you need someone to help you are not going to be getting it at some huge big city hospital if this smaller hospital has the service that can help you better stay there. Where the quality of the people who are caring for you are top notch!”

  • Not long enough.

“My wife the kids and I came down to Noblesville to visit my brother for the weekend. He was telling me we needed to visit the transportation museum with the kids. I wasn't so sure but went along anyway. Boy is I glad he suggested it! It was last minute so we hadn't made reservations but was able to get tickets in the gift shop onsite. The gift shop is a small old train station from the little town of hobs, Indiana that was moved to the museum. We rode the "pizza train" to the Tipton pizza king. What a fun time! The kids were very interested in the less than hour train trip and the conductor gave some history about the railroad to the passengers along the way. Once we arrived in Tipton we took a short walk to the Tipton pizza king restaurant where there was excellent food prepared just for the passengers of the train. It was your pizza place fare of pizza, wings, breadsticks, spaghetti, all hot and waiting for us. I admit I have always liked the unique pizza king pizza and was happy to eat to my hearts content. ”

  • Nice layout, greens in good condition, fairways in good shape, nice driving range with greens and flags to take aim.
  • It was a little moist in some place and the bunkers needed raked , but they can't control mother nature.

“We just finished playing today, and it was a cool day in the low 60's. Greens and fairways were in better than average shape for the area. I really liked the greens, several are two tiered and demand good second shots to make birdie or even par. I played from the back tees with one other, and the other two played from the whites. I am an 8 handicap and the course offered a good challenge for both groups, and was not overly friendly nor penalizing for mildly wayward tee shots. There are a couple of par fours that demand a good drive, but for the most part I was hitting 3 woods and left with wedges and short irons into the greens. If you haven't played this course I highly recommend you give it a try.”

Pro Bowl West Inc
Jul 17, 2006 by Brandon from Fort Wayne

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Best bowling alley in Fort Wayne, by a landslide. No competition. Cheapest, best quality. Doesn't get any better.
  • No loud music, even on weekends, and no cosmic bowling, so not as fun-friendly perhaps, but best for serious bowlers.

“Wonderful bowling alley. I've only had one run-in with an unfriendly staff member in the 6 years I've been going there. The lane quality is unmatched, there is a convenient and reasonably priced cafe in the alley, the room is exceptionally large and clean. And of course it is splendidly cheap. The best place for both serious bowlers and for families, but young teens who enjoy the cosmic bowling to loud music at some of the other alleys might be disappointed to discover that Pro Bowl does nothing of the sort. Still, the cheapness combined with the quality of the whole place makes it the best bowling alley in the city, even with the lack of disco balls hanging over the lanes. ”

Just so you know, you don't sleep in a tent, so it's not like real-camping. Like I said it has many fun things to do as in fishing, walking, a petting zoo, a park, a pool, and a mini golf course. Families will enjoy everything to keep kids busy. If you don't care to drive a few miles, there is the Tippe Canoe River. I love going for a weekend there!! Kids ages 2-15 will enjoy! Try it! You'll like it! Come on back!!!!”

  • Great attitude in the pro shop. Had a tee time of 9:05 am and got off on time on Sunday. Big plus - Driving range!
  • Slow players will hold up play.

“This course has out of bounds, bunkers and water hazard challenges. The 18th is just under 600 yards to an elevated green ( I bogeyed it). Much fun - but the beginner should not get frustrated. Not as difficult as Clear crest Pines but harder than Breckenridge in Morganfield, KY. I had a great time!!”
