Pikes Peak
Aug 12, 2008 by Bridget from St. Louis

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Great view.
  • Cold on railway if windows are open.

“Most favorite place in Colorado so far. I enjoyed the ride on the railway up to the mountains. A sight to see. It was more than what I expected. Have to see for yourself.”

Fiesta Theatre
Jul 23, 2008 by Janice from Cortez

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • The staff was friendly.
  • NA.

“This theater is dirty and the show times are rarely changed. The seats are broken down, people's feet stick to the floor and the screens both have small tears in them. I recommend going to Durango to watch the movies since the same owners own the one in Farmington.”

Vali 3 Theatre
Jul 18, 2008 by Megan from Dallas

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Inexpensive and great.
  • Small bathroom.

“The Vali 3 is a great theatre in a small town. The ticket prices are really reasonable, and candy, popcorn and drinks are so cheap. It is an annual event to go to the Vali on our summer vacation! Nice people, safe place.”

  • Wheel-chair and everyone else accessible, free galleries, unique atmosphere.
  • Obscure location.

Bear Creek Ranch
May 19, 2008 by Parent from CO

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • They have a rustic picnic shelter with a fire pit and a grill.
  • Staff. They certainly don't go out of their way for you in fact they really don't seem to care about you (their client) at all. Park entrance fee.

“I had a birthday party for my 8 year old child here and ran into nothing but problems. First of all, let me say that the $225 you pay to have a party here only covers riding the horses for 1 hour and the use of a very shabby pavilion area for 2 hours. You must pay a $5 park enterance fee for every vehicle that drives to your party which adds up fast. Also you must tip the wranglers. I was surprised by this on the day of the party and after having spoke to staff various times over the course of the previous month mind you. I was infromed that apparently they don't get paid anything by the ranch they work for tips only. Needless to say these two extra expenses added up to be an extra unexpected $100 to an already expensive party. Secondly, the volunteer staff timed the hour of horse rides to the minute. They seemed put out like they didn't want to be there and certain weren't to friendly to the kids. Especially since they overbooked their horsed and only had 1 availble for my 15 children to ride (the $225 was supposed to cover 2 horses). They brought over a little shetland pony to be the 2nd horse, however, only abut 5 kids were able to ride this horse due to some undefined height and/or weight restriction. Third, I'd suggest bringing your own propane if you plan on grilling. I called the morning of my 1 p.m. party to confirm they had a gas grill and propane on site. When we got there there was a grill without propane and they weren't able to retrieve the tank for us to begin our BBQ for over an hour. Overall I can't say I'd recommend this place for an event because of all of the logistical headache. Also they didn't offer anything to make up for all of the mishaps. I must say however that despite all of the obstacles we faced I was able to maintain a positive attitude and the kids were able to have a lot of fun.”

Coal Creek Sports Center LLC
Mar 18, 2008 by Jim from Louisville

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Cant think of a single thing.
  • Management, food, lanes were updated but still behind the times.

“I will without a doubt never visit this establishment again. Even for a bowling alley it is one of the worst places I have been to bowl. The food was horrible and the management actually made a child cry by not letting him bowl. There were plenty of lanes he just seemed to have a chip on his shoulder. On the way out, the manager proceeded to fly off the handle at a guest and was using profanity in front of a group of children. Very sad.”

Durango East Koa
Feb 5, 2008 by Stan from Summerland Key

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Very clean and friendly. Convenient with amenities.
  • Closes Oct. 15th. Sometimes the fall is a great time to visit Durango.

“We have stayed here many times. Always clean and friendly. In 2007 we ordered pizza which was excellent. It is nice being close to town and there are plenty of showers. Something we have had problems with at other campgrounds. We will definitely be back.”

Yampa Valley Airport
Nov 24, 2007 by Marta from Spring City, PA

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Fantastic location and well run.
  • Very small, limited snack bar, etc.

“This is a great airport! It is small but incredibly well run and very close to the fantastic steamboat springs ski area. We used it last year with American which flies into Hayden via Chicago and this year we are going via American and Dallas. It is only a 25 minute trip from the airport by shuttle bus direct to your accommodations in steamboat. Great airport!”

Pikes Peak
Nov 1, 2007 by Bonnie from Tyler, TX

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • "Breathtaking!
  • None.

“Wow! The drive is slow going but since we stopped at each over look it would have been slow anyway. Worth the $5 for the CD to listen to Narrative on the drive. And if you don't like to drive this type of road, you can take the cog railway. The views from the top are breathtaking.”

Littleton Adventist Hospital
Jul 28, 2007 by Todd from Lakewood,CO

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • The building is nice? That really doesn't matter if the service is so bad.
  • Highly unorganized, understaffed, inefficient, and run by incompetent management.

“Highly unorganized, understaffed, inefficient and run by incompetent management. The building is nice, and the people are nice, but no one knows what is going on. We had tests that were supposed to occur that ended up never being scheduled. They often blamed their computer system, but they did not know how to use it. They ended up giving an IV drip loaded with sugar to a diabetic. I had to figure out why her blood sugar was so high. I turned the iv drip off myself because no one would help us. Her blood sugar levels got up to 450 which it hasn't been that high since she became a diabetic. I wanted to make a complaint, but there was no one to complain too. I went to the front desk, and called the operator. They said they will send someone to speak with us and no one ever came. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.”

Pikes Peak
Jun 20, 2007 by Kevin from Fayetteville, NC

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

“Outstanding getaway hike. Rode the cog rail up and then hiked back down using Barr trail. Some of the most beautiful scenery and picture opportunities. If you have time, spend the night at Barr camp which is about half way up the mountain and has cabin as well as tent facilities. A trip to Colorado springs is incomplete without seeing this. Great 13 mile hike one-way.”

Diamond Campground, Inc
Jun 17, 2007 by Karen from Arvada Colorado

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Friendly staff, well-kept, lots of trees and shade.
  • Very near main road and town.

“This campground has lots of trees and relatively large sites. It is located very close to town and a main thoroughfare, so it is more or a suburban atmosphere than wilderness. They rent fully furnished trailers, which are a very good deal. Bigger than a hotel room, well-furnished kitchen, but your own picnic table and campfire grill for the "camping" experience. We're keeping this place on our list of places to return.”

Cheesman Park
May 4, 2007 by Rick from Denver

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • The Natural beauty of the park; others are usually very friendly.
  • As a park in the middle of a large city, you'll occasionally have the weirdo factor.

“Chessman park is one of those great places to go on an afternoon walk or a picnic lunch. The shops on the side streets near the park allow you to get something to eat or drink too, so you can be spontaneous about it. The pavilion on the hill is magnificent and the botanic gardens are just around the corner. I used to go there with my girlfriend; and it is a nice place for couples to spend time together outside but right in the middle of the city.”

Ocean Journey Aquarium
Feb 12, 2007 by Dawn from Charlotte, NC

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Open late, discounted rates after 6pm, beautiful exhibits, nice gift shop.
  • The restaurant is expensive, small parking fee.

“Last august my husband and I visited the downtown aquarium just before we moved from co back to NC. We'd heard great things about the newly renovated aquarium and decided to make it a mandatory stop before leaving the state. I'm so glad we did, as we both thoroughly enjoyed our day there! It was beautifully decorated, with a wide array of sealift as well as non-aquatic animals. One of the best features of the aquarium was the sting ray petting & feeding area. As a child, I had pet a few sting rays at sea world, but I¿d never had the opportunity to feed them. We were able to see the entire aquarium in about 3-4 hours, and then stopped off at the gift shop, which offered a variety of fairly priced items. I highly recommend this aquarium to anyone visiting the Denver area. I wish it was close enough for us to visit again!”

Brunswick Rocky Mountain Lanes
Oct 30, 2006 by Kathy from Lakewood

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • New - state of the art ¿ clean.
  • To loud - audio system over 150 db.

“I recently attended a 6 year olds B-day party, the party was mid-afternoon. The bowling alley in and of itself is spectacular! Unfortunately, minutes after arriving the audio / music system was turned on - It was so loud (well over 150 db) those we literally had to yell at people only standing 1' away to communicate. You could not even hear the blowing pins fall! One person asked an employee helping at the party if the music could be turned down and was told "That¿s as low as it goes". I then asked at the main counter and was told "I will try". The music was slightly turned down but not to a level you could hear the pins drop. It was maybe turned down to 150 db. It's been 72 hours since the party, my ears are still aching and I'm extremely concerned about the children being exposed to that level of noise in a family / public environment. Parents - consider taking ear muffs for your children if you go to Brunswick rocky mountain lanes.”

Six Flags Elitch Gardens
May 31, 2006 by Kelly from Westminster CO

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • The weather in the evening was cool.
  • The park was dirty and overpriced.

“Elitch's Six Flags was so much better as Elitch Gardens. It is now so overpriced that for a family of 5 to get in and spend the day, we go broke! Elitch's needs to drop the Six Flags title, the cheesy parades and shows and go back to "normal" Parking is now $15!! (Even Disney World is cheaper to park at.) And for us to get any dinner it would have cost us over $50. We had to survive on nachos and pretzels. We will stick with Water World season passes. While it costs more up front for 5 passes, we do not have to pay for parking, and we're welcome to bring our own food into the park. It will be a LONG time before we go back to SIX FLAGS Elitch Gardens.”

K O A Colarado Springs South Inc
May 13, 2006 by Gary

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Hard to find a positive when you are turned off before you arrive.
  • Unhelpful and rude.

“Extremely unhelpful and uninformative when making the reservation. When I needed to cancel the reservation I was informed there was a $5 service fee. This fee was not explained when making the reservation. I would not have solidified the reservation if I new there was a cancellation fee. Lynn was kind enough to refund all my money, but was upset. He then hung up on me. My overall opinion of every employee at this facility is low because they all seem rude. I only stay at KOA's when we travel. This one will never make the list of places to stay.”
