Holiday Inn San Diego-On The Bay
Aug 7, 2009 by Kevin from Novi,MI

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Great view of the Bay, Free Wi-FI.
  • Room decor was a bit sparse. No in room fridge.

“This hotel is an older property, but has been generally been well maintained. Rooms are located in three adjacent towers, 2 of which are high rise. The jewel of the property are the bay view rooms with balconies. At check in I was upgraded to bay view from the standard city view based on my Priority Club participation. The bay view balcony made this stay a highlight of my 12 day trip.”

Cinema 6 Theatre
Aug 2, 2009 by E from Twentynine Palms

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • No crowds since its a not a good theater.
  • Everything else.

“I went there recently and would not return. The theater smelled, and at the climax of the film with about 20 minutes left the projector malfunctioned and the staff was ill equipped to fix it. Upon request to repair and fix the film in order to view the rest of the movie 30 minutes had elapsed and when the film finally continued they had skipped 10 minutes of the movie and hence ruining the entire ending and movie. Upon request for reimbursement the manager was no where to be found and reimbursement was not an option, only a rain check to view another movie at their horrible establishment.”

Koa Kampground
Aug 1, 2009 by Linda from Orange County

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Beautiful campsites in the forest by the creek.
  • A bit pricey.

“Nice facilities, beautiful campsites, but a bit tricky to get into for larger motorhomes. At least once you get parked the view with the surrounding trees is wonderful, lots of shade. I like the pool, small but clean and the restrooms and showers were kept spotless our entire stay. We got to bring our Cocker Spaniel - but they said 'he was just like a person' so they charged us $5 a night for him. It's ok, he's worth it. There were some great walks from the campground down to the river and our campsite overlooked a creek that was beautiful too. We were glad we made reservations early because they were very busy, I guess it's pretty popular in July. Next time we are going in June cause they said it was the best time besides September. I can't wait to go back.”

Woodward Reservoir Regional Park
Jul 25, 2009 by Crystal from Oakdale

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5

  • Monday through Thursday is so nice.
  • Fights and people looking to cause trouble.

“During the week this is a really nice place to camp. I give it a 9 for week days and a 0 for weekends. Weekends bring trouble, fights and rude people. Avoid weekends if you can. My family went for 5 days and T-Fri were just fine. But Friday night at 10:30 is when 8 cars pulled up beside us and crowded into a tiny little area next to us. Now if you are like my family, and follow rules, there are only 8 people allowed per camp site. But not everyone follows the rules. I know it's not the staffs fault that people are stupid. But I wish the staff would enforce the rules of quiet time from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. Our neighbors blasted their music until 4:00 am! Again avoid weekends at all cost.”

Canyon Creek Resort
Jul 23, 2009 by Katherine Oriarte from American canyon

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Its fun exciting.
  • Just be aware the toilets don't work sometimes.

“I loved winters. The thing is, my family/friends and I go there every year as our little camping trip I always do karaoke and last year 2008 I won 1st place. The 1st problem I have there is that some of the people there are snotty, rude and very noisy and the 2nd problem I have is that every year we go there there's always something wrong with the toilets, yeah I know its disgusting forever.”

Holiday Inn San Diego-On The Bay
Jul 21, 2009 by Alofa from Concord,CA

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • Location was great and price wasn't too bad.
  • The room accommodations.

“When we arrived they accommodated us in a room that had only a sofa bed! I couldn't even believe hotels did this. The furniture was outdated but the bathroom was modern. It was a weird combination. They moved us the next day but I can't even believe that anyone would want to be in a room with a sofa bed no matter how much money you save. I will never stay here again and it is definitely not a 3 star hotel. The only 3 star about it was the location.”

  • The old lady bartender is the worst I have ever seen.

“The old lady bartender, don't know if she in overworked and underpaid or what but she is definitely not a nice person and should not be dealing with the public, ever! Its good that she doesn't work every night. There is a nice man who bar tends there and another pleasant younger woman. Both of these employees seem to enjoy and know there job a lot better.”

Scripps Memorial Hospital & Medical Research Center
Jun 18, 2009 by Mary from South Holland IL

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • The outcome was fine, as were the Managing Directors.
  • Just about everything else.

“Scripps Mercy Hospital, Hillcrest district in San Diego is the worst. You would do well to rid yourself of this abomination. The ER is filthy, street people are sleeping on gurneys, the washrooms are filthy, I encountered several instances of nursing care that bordered on the illegal, and no one seems to give a hoot. By a ER tech to my daughter: We don't allow people to stay overnight in the ER. Your mother can call you when her procedure is finished and you can come and pick her up. Never mind that I am not from San Diego and am there on vacation (some vacation, to encounter this lovely institution!) I have never, in my 68 years, been to such a charade of a hospital.”

Holiday Inn San Diego-On The Bay
Jun 4, 2009 by Daniella from Orange,CA

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7

  • The hotel was in a really great location, so I would recommend for that reason.
  • We assumed that we would have one king bed or 2 queen, but we got 2 small beds so we couldn't even sleep together, and I mean small.

“The hotel itself is very nice and in a great location, but as far as booking through Priceline they need to make sure that they book automatically for a king bed or 2 queen beds, because it was ridiculous and the beds were not comfortable at all and my husband is disabled from a fall, so his back was in so much pain that we couldn't do anything, because he had such a hard time sleeping, and we couldn't change rooms, because there was nothing available, the hotel was completely booked. Like I said location and staff really great, but the beds, not great.”

Jalama Beach Park
Apr 30, 2009 by Gina from Torrance, CA

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5

  • Beautiful beach.
  • Extremely windy and lack of privacy for tent campers.

“Great beach but the tent camping was not comfortable. The spots were too close together and defeat the purpose of wanting to get away from it all when your camping neighbor was about 10 feet away. The biggest problem was the wind - it was much worse than we thought and made it impossible to enjoy the bonfire that we enjoy.”

Kelly'S Beach

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4

  • Location and setting.
  • Disgusting mens toilet and shower area.

“The men's toilet and shower area is disgusting! I have traveled to Kelly's Beach for 7 years with a large group of friends. And every single year I must deal with the smelliest, dirtiest place I've had to visit. This space should be the number one priority of the campground, and for whatever reason (but ignorance) has it always disappointed me. How hard is it to maintain a bathroom? Some paint, bleach, and a garden hose should do the trick, but they don't get it.”

Silent Valley Club Inc
Mar 16, 2009 by Andi from Riverside

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Easy to get to; lots to do; safe for the children; and everyone treats each other like family.
  • I don't like that you can't have a campfire, but this is minor compared to the positives.

“I have never had anything but great experiences with the staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. This is a well staffed and well maintained campground with so much to do. Although this is a campground and not a hospital, they still try to be prepared to assist everyone from the children with bee stings to the elderly patrons with life threatening issues. They have someone available 24/7 at the ranger/first aid station in case of an emergency which is a lot more than many campgrounds out there. (Of course they watch TV, but not because they are neglecting their duty - anyone stuck in a little building for hours on end would do the same.) In addition to that, other Rangers are constantly making rounds. It's like a mountaintop paradise with little more than a city drive. It's definitely worth a look!”

  • Customer service could be improved, though not bad.

“I have stayed on the Queen Mary six times. It is my favorite hotels and attractions in California. I love its history. I feel as though I have gone back in time when aboard. Low season rooms are reasonable, high season they are pricey. It is great for history, romance, and the views from restaurants.”

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Fun for the whole family! Young, old, or in between!
  • Everything was perfect! No negative feedback necessary!

“My family and I decided to have a fun family outing while visiting my parents in Glendale, CA, so we decided to go to Jewel City Bowl. We had the most fabulous time! My father, who is 74 years old, was bowling his heart out and so was my 6 year old son! We laughed a lot, took pictures and I was surprised at how delicious the food was! It was less expensive for us to have fun bowling & eating, rather than just going out for dinner. Plus it was so much more fun. I have been to many bowling centers around the country and this one is phenomenal!”

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • A lot of fun for kids, especially small ones. A variety of exhibits & play areas.
  • A little small, can be hard to spot, but much bigger on the inside than it appears from the front.

“This is a fun little museum - a great outing for kids, especially the little ones. They have a touch tank with live ocean animals, and a lot of fun, hands-on activities and exhibits for kids to explore and play on/with. It is very cheap, and the staff is really friendly. We went on a day when they were offering a craft activity, and my son really enjoyed it. I recommend this as a good family outing!”

The New Danville Bowl

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Nothing - would not return.
  • Bad customer service - unfair in determining the waiting list. We arrived before others and then watch them served before us.

“Poor customer service - totally lacking in providing clear waiting list information accuracy. Kept giving untrue information as to the estimated waiting time, putting us off over and over again until after over 2 hours of waiting - and witnessing others who originally arrived after us - given the opportunity to bowl. We had requested only one alley. When we arrived - was not offered the opportunity to sign in and subsequently put at the end of the list. Well behind others who arrived well after us. When we should have been before them. We finally just left without bowling in disgust and determined never to return even if offered free games. A wasted Sunday afternoon for us and our two.”

Mountasia Family Fun Center
Jan 16, 2009 by Mike from Santa Clarita

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Good staff & food.
  • When it rains.

“I have been going to Mountasia in Santa Clarita since it opened. I remember when they had a small McDonald's in it. I have 4 kids, spread out in ages and we have never had any problems or experiences like what I read. Are you all sure we went to the same place? There are other Mountasia's in other states. This one I know is independent and not part of a chain. The staff, they have, is great. Most are teens but they have always been wonderful to me and my kids. Even when my daughter got a bee sting, they really took care of her. The Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor they have is like the old Farrell's I use to go to in the valley. The food is great, better than Red Robin and cheaper. The ice cream is the BEST! We usually go there once a month for a couple hours, eat, play, pick up a few prizes and leave feeling pretty good. It's a fun place. As far as their security, I know they are off duty police (or maybe Sheriff) but again, they have always seemed very professional. I watched them eject a kid from the go karts and they were pretty calm. I think it's a very safe place and have dropped off my kids numerous times with their friends and never worry about them as I know the security team is good. Overall, Mountasia is a great place and they do a lot for our community which is more than I can say for most other businesses.”

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2

  • Looks nice but.
  • Poor on-site staff, ranger manager can be found in the back room of the ranger station watching TV.

“It's horrible how the guard manager and office manager are so mean there. My father died at Silent Valley, he had a heart attack in his camp ground spot and at the time the Ranger station had no medical nurse on duty to help him. Sadly, he died at his camp. I'll make sure to never stay there! Besides the rangers drive around in loud sounding old beat-up trucks, unfriendly and harass the campers. Meantime when you need to speak to a ranger you'll find them in the ranger guard in the back room watching TV, they really should remove the TV! Again, I'll make sure to never stay there, thanks!”
