Carmike Cinemas
Jun 1, 2008 by Robyn from Dothan

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Just the movie.
  • Seating, cleanliness, personnel, food prices.

“I haven't been to Circle West in a long time and the only reason I went was for the City - I don't know how such a big movie ended up at such a crappy theatre - I saw Indiana Jones also today at the Cinema II and the Circle West Theatre was nasty and snack prices were sky high. Next time a movie is there that I want to see, I will wait for it to come out on DVD.”

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Clean and family based.
  • Needs more bumper alleys maybe some just for parties and then some for other customers not in parties.

“I think this is an awesome place to take the family, I am a mother of 4 and my children love going bowling all though I think they should have more bumper alleys because they are always feeled up with birthday parties every time we go My family still have a great time playing. It is one of the nicest and cleanest bowling alleys I have every been to.”

Art Griffith Gallery Inc
Oct 10, 2007 by Barry from Alabaster

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • A great excursion into the world of fine taste.
  • They have some of the world's finest artists. What bad can you say?

“Tucked away on a small hillside shopping center close to a Sonic and a bowling alley is one of the must-sees for art connoisseurs in the Birmingham area. Griffith Art Gallery boasts impressive examples of contemporary artists, including Yuri Gorbachev originals (cousin to Mikhail Gorbachev), French Impressionists, and even the works of a South American monk whose works appear in the Pope's personal office. Not bad for a shop within walking distance of getting a Sonic burger and rolling a perfect strike. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable and friendly. You will find literally thousands of choices from which to select that perfect piece. I have visited the shop on many occasions with many of my friends. No matter your background, you will always something to catch your eye in this remarkable store!”

Clark Theatres
Sep 22, 2007 by Ron from Andalusia

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • The friendly service and low prices can't be beat!
  • None from me.

“It may not be a Rave, but Clark Theatres is one of those places where you can go and get friendly service in a stress free environment. It definitely has the great hometown feel to it. Next to a Rave, you will spend half as less at Clark Theatres.”

Waterville Usa Inc
Sep 1, 2007 by Richard from Atlanta, GA

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2

  • None.
  • Expensive, unfriendly staff, dirty, very bad food.

“The food in the park is awful. Nothing is worth eating except maybe the pizza. The staffs were unfriendly; some of them didn't even speak proper English. The other part that did was so bored and unfriendly that they were almost sleeping on duty. I am not comfortable with people speaking a different language that I don't understand. They can be making fun of me without me knowing it. The bathroom was nastier than everything I have ever seen. Smelly, dirty, tissues all over the place and the Park Services staff was ignoring everything like it wasn't there. And for this whole experience, you pay $30+tax a person? No, thank you very much. Next time I will pass and so will all of my friends.”

Mobile Regional Airport
Aug 3, 2007 by steve from tampa, fl

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4

  • Easy to get in, never any traffic or crowds due to the crappy service.
  • Always delays, baggage handling is slow and a joke.

“Very small regional airport, with lousy (and expensive) connections. Basically, you can only fly to a handful of cities (hubs) to get anywhere. Not sure why it's so expensive and why there's such terrible service (always delays). The whole airport situation is an embarrassment to Alabama as normal people are forced to drive to Pensacola, Gulfport or (worse) New Orleans to get decent airline connections and service. Most likely due to lack of city government action keeping their citizens hostage to high air fares.”

Waterville Usa Inc
Aug 3, 2007 by Laurie from Georgia

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Can't think of one thing. This should be shut down.
  • Rude staff, dirty place and broken everything.

“Foul place with rude staff. Bathrooms are gross and they do not take care of the park or the game room. The Bounce machines were filthy and they even closed the popcorn machine two hours before the park closed. Our family will never return here. There are better places in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. And I have no problem with Ukrainians here, in fact, at Perdido Resort, they are very nice and speak wonderful English, not at Waterville USA though! Please speak our language, or don't work in customer service. No one could understand us. We left with a really weird feeling about this place. It was like they didn't want your business.”

Waterville Usa Inc
Aug 3, 2007 by CONDO OWNER from BIRMINGHAM

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Had potential, but needs new owner and fire every employee.
  • Everything. Would take a book to write about this nasty place. It creped us out.

“As far as the Arcade, don't waste your time or money. We went there an hour and 15 minutes before closing and the employees had deflated the "House of Bounce". I had to make them put it back up. Then, 30 minutes before closing, they started shutting off a few lights and mopping the floors with disgusting smelling water. If anyone slipped it would have been a liability. You don't mop concrete floors while kids are walking on them A lot of the game machines were broken, and the ones that weren't, took our tokens, which can only be used at their arcade. Unlike Adventure Island in Orange Beach, which gives you quarters that you can use elsewhere in case the Arcade closes on you before the closing time? Also, one male employee followed my 9 year old daughter and kept using her tokens to play the game she was playing too! I never leave her side, so I caught him immediately. The employees did not speak English, and could not understand anything we asked. And when my daughter asked for a cup to put her tokens in (like Adnture Isald does), they said "Only bag. Only bag for heavy money. What? We were given a lunch paper bag to hold our tokens. Then, when we were using our tickets for prizes, which by the way, were really pathetic, they couldn't add up the points correctly and lost count of what we had. I also had asked to buy the candy making tubes behind us, and they said the cash register was closed for the night. It was 10 minutes before closing! This place upon first glance looked great, but 5 minutes there, and we soon began to see why there were no people there. It was disgusting, broken down, old, and employees who were rude and spoke broken English. I give this place a negative 0 time 5. Please don't waste your family's time or money. Go to little Adventure Island in Orange Beach. It may be smaller, but the stay open until midnight, and even then don't push you out. They are very customer friendly and go out of their way to accommodate you. I will never go there again. Tomorrow, I am calling the owner. And I am not one to take time to write a review, but this place needs new ownership.”

Desoto Caverns Park
Apr 20, 2007 by Joan from Coosa County

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • You go down all the way into the cave. The temperature is always pleasant and the sights are great! I love the gift shop.
  • It's uphill all the way to the entrance!

“The park is landscaped with waterfalls & streams with little bridges over the streams. There are statues of children playing on a water sprinkler just in front of the gift shop entrance. There are many, many activities outside of the cave geared to children interests. The gift shop is awesome! Sometimes I drive there to just browse in the gift shop. They have a world of rocks to choose from. The first time (in the 60s) I went into the cave there were 88 steps to get to the bottom. There was one light dropped from the ceiling with a long string attached to it so the guide could show how dark the cave was without light. Pitch black! It was an experience that I fondly remember to this day! Desoto cavern isn't as large as some other caverns I heard of, but the experience with Desoto is very memorable!”

Birmingham International Airport
Apr 5, 2007 by Andrew Muir from Bangor, Northern Ireland

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4

  • Location clean and tidy.
  • Takes ages to get through security.

“Visited the airport on Thursday 15 march 2007 and had to wait for one hour to get through security. This was due to lack of staffing and positions arising from refurbishment, not due to security alerts etc. An absolute disgrace! Otherwise airport is great, centrally located, easy access to National rail network, selection of food etc. Is nice and airport is modern.”

  • Wonderful nurses and physicians.
  • Some specialties not available.

“Medical center enterprise has excellent nurses, physicians and other staff. Due to the large military presence, there is a wide variety of nurses available - from the spouses of the military who are stationed here to nurses from several nursing programs nearby. The 4th floor has been recently remodeled and is beautiful.”

Montgomery Zoo, The
Mar 13, 2007 by Tabatha from Bellwood, Al

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Great kid-friendly environment.
  • Not enough exotic animals.

“A great day trip for the family. My kids loved the zoo and the train ride. There was a great area for a light lunch and then back into the zoo again. There is a small playground for the parents to take a quick break and for the small ones to get out of the stroller and run off some built up energy. I would have like to see more exotic animals (koala, lemurs, etc.) I think a petting zoo would be a great addition to the zoo”

Paradise Lanes, Inc.
Mar 5, 2007 by Patricia from Boaz

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Everyone was wonderful at paradise lanes.
  • I could not find anything negative.

“I would like to take the time to say thank you to everyone at paradise lanes. I work with mentally and physically handicap clients and we have planned outings to go bowling for several years now and we have always got a great deal at paradise lanes. The other bowling alley's like the thunder alley in boaz would not give us a break on the cost and therefore my family will always go to paradise lanes now to go bowling even if we do have to drive a lot longer to do so. ”

Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame

  • High quality presentation.
  • Too small (but had no choice).

“Small but excellent museum. The theater is in use all year round, doing a good educational job. The last surviving original inductee, frank Adams, is on hand most days, to speak and perform for groups.”

Birmingham School Of Law
Oct 5, 2006 by Matt from Houston

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7

  • It fit very well into the Birmingham Legal District across from the Bar Association.
  • Night School so there was not a lot to see.

“Birmingham School of Law was established in 1915 and is located in downtown Birmingham a couple blocks form the Courthouse and the Park. It is housed in the historic Frank Nelson building. This is one of the first high-rise buildings built in Birmingham, AL. The school is primarily a night law school but has a very heavy presence in Alabama. Many of the judges are proud to display this school as their alma mater. I was in Birmingham visiting a friend and had some time to burn so I wondered downtown. The city to my surprise is actually quite breathtaking. It is located at the foot of the Application Mountains. Some of the area is industrial but from the city to the East it is sprawling with historic buildings, homes and beautifully manicured estates. I was there in the fall and the leaves were turning. So my opinion of Alabama as a whole has changed a great deal from what I thought of it before I visited. I found Huntsville, Birmingham and Mobile to be unique and bustling economically. Huntsville was full of engineers and science types it seemed. Montgomery was typical of what one may think of when one thinks of Alabama. Mobile especially downtown and the East Bay area were very resort like and seemed to have a great deal of revenue generated from the port activity. I highly recommend visiting Gulf Shores as it is a beautiful beach and priced right.”

Point Mallard Park

  • The fast water slides.
  • The crowd, but that means it is a good park.

Montgomery Museum Of Fine Arts
Aug 14, 2006 by Lois from Barrington RI

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • I love the setting, the museum, the traveling exhibits & the whole experience.
  • There are no negatives.

“A beautiful museum in a magnificent setting. Permanent collection is very good, but it is the traveling exhibits which make it a must-see destination. I am impressed, every time I visit, with the consistently high quality of the shows and the excellent installation. A well-done, hand-on children's area, plus a lovely gift shop and cafe, round out this gem.”

Birmingham International Airport
Dec 3, 2005 by Gary from Montgomery

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7

  • Clean, fast, good parking.
  • Parking deck signage.

“Birmingham is a somewhat little airport. Since you'll probably be either originating or terminating a flight here, you won't be needing a bookstore, a Sharper image, which is good, because they don't have them. But the snack bar is decent and serves yogurt, coffee drinks, and some basic fast food items. I've never experienced a long wait in ticketing or security. Parking is plentiful, only hitch is the signage in long-term parking is a little lacking as to where you should park for what terminal. However, it doesn't really matter much as all the terminals are fairly close together and if you parked in the worst parking lot on the deck you'd still have a shorter walk than many airports. Just kind of keep your eyes open as you drive into the deck and you'll figure out the best places to park.”

Montgomery Zoo, The
Oct 14, 2005 by Bob from Birmingham

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5

  • Good viewing areas
  • Boring animals

“Nice zoo overall, very typical though. Not many really exotic animals. The alligator exhibit is horrible. It is nothing but a little bit of grass and a concrete pool. The reptile building is small and boring. Most of the reptiles can be found in pet stores. No venomous snakes, contrary to what their website says.”
