• Nice calm water.
• Shady owner.

“Claimed he had first class new boats. The boats were ten year old Bay liners with a toilet that did not even flush. We went out in the afternoon and got one strike, apparently the wrong tide? The guide said the best time was on a certain tide in the morning. The owner failed to mention that when sold us the trip.”

• Dirty, lots of drugs, mentally ill people.

“One morning a friend and I were walking east and we took a route past this park, I started walking much faster! I believe it is an absolute disgrace that a place like this even exists-let alone in our own city.”

• The church.
• Nothing.

“I have been coming here since I was a little girl for field trips and funerals. The best part would be the adorable tiny church located beside the carousel. The ice cream in the train is awesome and they have little classes to learn about toys in the 1900's and how they used to churn butter. There is a mail room and a print press. Everyone working there is dressed in 1900's apparel. If you are into heritage go visit the village.”

• Families, culture, acceptance and tolerance.
• Impolite people with cool cars and cameras as though they are looking at wild life.

“Reality definitely outside of the norm of paradise. keep your eyes open to the giving and forgiving human nature of the families that call this place home. Show respect to get respect. Definitely not the glitz, glamour, and ignorance of rich parks.”

• lots to see and do, great food and art galleries
• limited parking

“Grenville Island Market is a great place to visit !. The art galleries, markets and restaurants are located in old industrial buildings located under a bridge on the docks. The views of the city and surrounding mountains are breathtaking. There is a fair amount of free parking ( limited to 3 hours) available. I parked 1 block away . At lunchtime buskers entertain the diners on the wharfs. There's something for everyone here.”

• close to a bad area of the city

“Gastown is a really neat place. The architecture is amazing. The restaurants are inviting. The only word of caution I have is if you go to the statue on the east side of Gastown DO NOT GO NORTH !!!! One block north is the heart of the druggy district . There are hundreds of homeless people and heroin addicts lying around. This goes on for about 4 blocks. The rest of the city is fine. Avoid this area especially if you have children with you or you are on foot.”

• misled on what they offered and wouldn't use them again

“When we booked the guy told us his guides were the best and they were filling the boat. We managed 1 fish on our 5 hour trip. The boats were old bayliners and not modern at all. Stay away from this company”

Yaletown

• Not As Cheap As Other Parts of Vancouver

“Yaletown is a great place to live, as long as you have lots of money. It so nice to be able to walk or rollerblade along the sea wall, and to be so close to the water and mountains. A great website to check out is www.myyaletown.com - it shows everything from restaurants, and shopping, to accommodation and clubs.”
