• Cheap. Unique tram. Excellent walks at Obeliska.
• Can be crowded as vehicles are small. Avoid commuter times.

“I work for a travel company, and went out to Italy last year to research an escorted tour. I traveled on the Opicina during a stay in Trieste. It really is a fascinating experience. The tram uniquely transfers to a funicular (ie steep cable way) to gain height. The views from the tram (over Trieste and the bay) are spectacular, and there are easy, but very scenic walks if you get off at the overall summit of Obeliska.”
