Vancouver International Airport

Vancouver International Airport is located approximately 15 kilometers (9 miles) from downtown Vancouver on Sea Island in British Columbia, Canada. It is a large international airport served by numerous domestic and international airlines offering nonstop flights to Asia, Europe and Mexico plus a long list of destinations in Canada and the U.S. The airport has three terminals: the recently renovated Domestic Terminal, the International Terminal and the South Terminal. Transfers are relatively easy between the first two connected terminals, but the South Terminal is a separate facility that serves as a regional hub for small aircraft, float planes, helicopter operations and corporate charters. The terminals showcase British Columbia's rich wildlife and aboriginal culture including a piece titled Worlds: The Sea, The Land and The Sky that features colorful carvings of killer whales and other animals that is representative of the region's aboriginal art. Like most large Canadian airports, Vancouver International charges an Airport Improvement Fee of $5 for passengers traveling within British Columbia or the Yukon, $10 for passengers traveling to other North America destinations and $15 for passengers traveling to destinations outside North
