La Guardia AirportDitmars Blvd & 94th St, Flushing, NYWeb: Visit this site » LaGuardia Airport, located in the borough of Queens eight miles from midtown Manhattan, is New York City's main domestic airport. A perimeter rule prohibits incoming and outgoing flights that exceed 1,500 miles, so most transcontinental and international flights use the other major New York area airports, JFK International Airport or Newark Liberty International Airport. However, LaGuardia is still served by over 20 airlines and offers nonstop daily flights to numerous destinations in the U.S. and Canada. There are also seasonal flights to the Bahamas and Bermuda. In the late 90s, LaGuardia routinely experienced overcrowding-related delays, but the crush of passengers has been alleviated in recent years due to the September 11th tragedy and expansion projects that have increased the airport's capacity. The airport consists of five terminals: the Central Terminal Building, the Delta Terminal, the US Airways Terminal, the US Airways Shuttle Terminal, and the Delta Shuttle Terminal, which is housed in the historic Marine Air Terminal. Shuttle buses connect the terminals.
