Jacksonville International Airport, located 18 miles north of downtown Jacksonville, Fla., is the gateway to northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. Fourteen major and regional airlines operate out of the airport offering over 200 daily arrivals and departures. The main terminal features a large courtyard with several eating options and a stage were local bands perform at the end of each month. Three concourses (A, B and C) extend from the main terminal. Some passengers complain that the narrow concourses, built in the late 1960s, are crowded and lack the services and facilities expected in today's airports. The airport plans to address this issue in a Terminal Expansion project, which will expand the concourses and the central courtyard. If you need a little more elbow room before then, visit the airport's Haskell Art Gallery or the non-denominational meditation room.

- Restricted vision to planes landing and departing.
“When my daughter was young, we use to go to the airport to pick up my step-children. It was fun to go up on the roof and watch the planes land and take off. You can no longer do that. I wish they still had an observation deck like that.”
