William P Hobby Airport8183 Airport Blvd, Houston, TXWeb: Visit this site » William P Hobby Airport, which only serves U.S. destinations, is Houston's second largest airport after George Bush Intercontinental Airport, which also serves international destinations. Hobby Airport, named after a former Texas governor, is approximately seven miles south of downtown Houston. It is served by seven airlines and is the largest hub airport for Southwest Airlines. Ticketing for all airlines is located in the main terminal, which connects to three concourses. Southwest operates out of concourses A and C. You can step back in time at the nearby 1940 Air Terminal Museum, the airport's original 1940s art deco terminal that was restored by the Houston Aeronautical Heritage Society. The museum reminds us of a time when flying was a sophisticated mode of travel requiring your finest clothes - a far cry from today's crowded planes and flips flops.
