Great Falls International Airport is located in Great Falls, Mont., which is 120 miles from the Canadian border, 93 miles northeast of Helena, the state capital, and a few hours drive from Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. The airport itself is approximately three miles southwest of Great Falls. Big Sky Airlines, Delta, Horizon Air and Northwest service the airport offering nonstop flights to Helena, Salt Lake City, Seattle and Minneapolis/St. Paul. The airport opened at its current site in 1929, but has undergone major renovations and expansions since then. In 1975, a new terminal was constructed and all runways, aprons and taxiways were updated.
