In the gardens of the Ipiranga Museum in Independence Park you will find a house built exactly like the one in the painting Independencia ou Morte (Independence or Death) by the artist Pedro Americo. Initially built using wood and clay, it was remodelled in the fifties to get a closer resemblance to the house in the painting. In the house's eight rooms the visitor will find objects, paintings and utensils from the 19th century.
