Malecon (El)

Paseo Díaz Ordaz, Centro, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

The best sunsets and the best walks can be taken in this beautiful boardwalk, which is the Malecon. It is one of the things that enhances the beauty of Vallarta's Downtown as it runs along the beach. It is especially valuable as many large beach resorts obstruct the views of the ocean to all other tourists. The boardwalk features permanent art exhibits and some of the best places to dine and drink in town, like Carlos O'Brians, La Bodeguita del Medio and El Zoo.

  • Sunsets and sculptures are not to be missed.
  • Weekend nights can be crowded.

“The Male con is the centerpiece of the city. Lined with whimsical sculpture, the wide promenade is a Mecca for tourists and local Mexican families. Entertainers frequently appear curbside and at the adjacent cathedral square. All-in-all, the Male con is THE place to see and be seen in PV.”
