Quan Thanh PagodaThanh Nien and Pho Quanh Thanh, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, VietnamThis pagoda, lying next to Truc Bach Lake, was founded in the era of the King Ly Thai To (1010-1028). Dedicated to the God Huyen Thien Tran Vo who guarded the north, it is ornately decorated and stands before a pleasant courtyard shaded by banyan trees. Particularly impressive is an imposing four-ton bronze statue of the God, cast in 1677. His emblems, a snake and a tortoise accompany are also represented.
