Helvetinjarven Kansallispuisto
Tampere, FinlandHelvetinjarvi national park was established in 1982 and its total area is 30km2. Visitors can get acquainted with the wild nature of the North Hame province in the national park. The most famous of the park's landmarks is the Helvetinkolu, a great crack in the cliff that has been a famous sight since the nineteenth century. Another popular spot is Haukanhieta beach at Haukkajarvi lake, with its swimming, camping and river access. Great variety is typical of the forests in the national park: you can visit dry pine-dominated forests that grow on cliffs, forests dominated by spruce and birch with rich undergrowth of moss and bushes, as well as marshland and swamp. Helvetinjarvi national park is well suited for walks, hiking and camping.
