Peace Hotel (The)

Once known as the legendary Cathay Hotel, The Peace Hotel's roots date back to Shanghai's concession to the British and the birth of the Bund (Wai Tan) in the early 20th century. It was almost destroyed by Japanese fighters during World War II and housed soldiers during the Cultural Revolution. Today, the hotel continues the fine tradition of providing upscale accommodation for the discerning business traveler or tourist.
