Wat Pan On

Wat Pan On

Ratchadamnoen Road, 300 meters away from Tha Pae Gate, Chiang Mai, Thailand

This temple was constructed around 1501 in King Phra Muang Kaeo's period (1495-1525) when Lanna was flourishing with arts and culture. Originally there was another smaller temple called Wat Chedi Khwan located nearby on the western side. Later, the two monuments that you find here today were combined into one temple. The entrance of this wat is a good place to find guides who will tell you about this temple and offer you transportation to other places of interest in the area.
