NasinpuistoNäsinpuisto, Tampere, FinlandWeb: Visit this site » Nasinpuisto park is a lush recreational area, one of the most varied of all the parks in Tampere in terms of different plant species. The trees in the park are all old beauties, and among them is Finland's thickest poplar. A magnificent view opens from the top of Nasinkallio cliff to Sarkanniemi and far off to Lake Nasijarvi. At the top, immersed in a sea of flowers, stands a statue called Sorrow (1940), in which a mother and her children are huddled together in grief, mourning over the victims of the worst shipwreck ever to happen in the inland waters of Finland. The accident happened very close to Mustalahti harbour.
