Visit this gallery in the west-end of Fremantle, an area renowned for Edwardian architecture. The Staircase Gallery boasts a reputation as a premier gallery for fine art and fine woodcraft. A magnificent sculptural staircase created by the Battersea Studio leads to the second floor. The staircase, crafted from recycled materials and large Sheoaks, features steps made from the boilerplate of the old whaling station at Carnarvon (a town north of Perth). The gallery specialises in exquisitely carved Jarrah, a durable hardwood unique to Western Australia. Admission is free.
