“We loved Kangaroo Island but the Southern Ocean lodge was just terrible. I couldn't believe that this place was built in such a beautiful location. If you want to pay money to stay in a bad hotel, visit NYC - if you want to experience Australian nature at its best - as one Aussie said grab a swag.”

“I absolutely love this place! We heard about it from family who lives in south Australia and insisted that we go down there when we went to Adelaide for a visit. The managers are the most, hospitable people I have ever come across in the accommodation arena. They strove to make our stay as wonderful as they possibly could and their property far exceeded our expectations. We chose Glenburn cottage, as when we were there, the Ridgetop retreats were as yet unfinished, but Glenburn was an absolute delight. The drive into any of the cottages is fabulous. Stunning forests, amazing vistas, you feel as though you have stepped into another world. And this is only an hour or so away from the capital city of south Australia, Adelaide! We woke up each morning and had our breakfast on the deck of the cottage where we could watch the absolute herd of kangaroos that showed up every morning and every evening, just before dusk. The cottage itself was exceptionally well maintained, wonderful decor, so modern and came with everything we could possibly need. It was also very close to many wonderful hiking trails, enough so that any level of hiker could go. We went on one of the easier ones, as we are not usually the outdoorsy type! All in all, we had a lovely time during our stay in south Australia, and particularly on the peninsula. There are so many activities to do up there that you could stay for a year and still not have done everything! When we go back to visit our family again, we will definitely be returning to southern ocean retreats. .” Popular Attractions in AdelaideView all attractions in Adelaide
