One could be forgiven for dismissing the massive apartment and office complex facing the Rhone on the Quai du Seujet as an architectural mishap. On the plus side, this imposing monolith hides a vast terrace providing an impressive and unusual view of the city. The panorama takes in part of the lake, the old town, the Alps and the Saleve. If beholding all this beauty makes you hungry, the imaginatively named cafe-bar-restaurant Le Panoramic shares the terrace, providing standard Franco-Swiss fare.

To get to the vantage point, take the public elevator at 20-22 Quai du Seujet to the 5th floor.
