Pueblo de ApartaderosCarretera Trasandina, kilómetro 58, Merida, MexicoThe name of Apartaderos is related to the fact that many roads depart from this point, and this has been so since colonial times. Merida's founder, Juan Rodriguez Suarez, reached this spot and then continued on so as to open a new road towards present day Santo Domingo. The city's second founder, Juan de Maldonado, all departed from this point towards present day Valera.Nowadays, Apartaderos marks the end of the Ruta del Paramo (Moorlands Route), that unites it with the State Capital. It is also a town with peculiar and interesting architecture, in addition to all types of tourist attractions and services.
