The Skate Park is a skateboarding arena located in the Military Museum on the beachfront. This is the place to come if you are a skateboarding enthusiast and are tired of contending with the traffic and pedestrians on the public roads. The minimum age for boarders is 6 years old, though if you are anything more than about 25 you are likely to feel a little out of it. There is a skate shop that sells boards, shoes, clothing, skating videos and other miscellaneous skating paraphernalia (the most intriguing of which is a set of false teeth which, once inserted in your mouth gives you a 'just-eaten-marmite'look). Entrance costs R10 per day during the week or R8 per session at the weekends. A session runs from 10am to 1:30p and then from 1:30p to 5p.
