Museo de Arte ColonialAvenida 4 Bolivar, entre calles 20 y 21, N° 20-8, Merida, MexicoTel: +58 74 527 860 This museum truly unites a collection of Iberian colonial art from the 16th to the 19th centuries, and not just limited to Venezuela, for there are pieces from Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Portugal. You will find objects in iron and ivory, sculptures, religious objects, jewellery, paintings, woodcarvings and textiles. The museum was founded in 1963, and in 1973 was declared part of the "Nation's Historical Heritage". Since 1995, its home has been the old residence of the Independence hero - General Juan Antonio Paredes. Admission: Bs 300.
