The greenhouse of the Federal Forest Research Institution of Vienna, managed by the branch-office for sub-alpine forest-research in Innsbruck, exists since 1962. It is used as a research-centre for eco-physiological studies at the alpine timber-line. The 8,500 squaremeter garden with its diverse mountain-flora lies at about 2,000 m above sealevel. More than 400 different alpine mountain plants can be admired here. Price: entrance is free.
