Meinohama
Nishi-ku, Fukuoka, JapanAn unfair prejudice lingers about the Meinohama area in the west-end of the city, past Sawara-ku. People frequently say it is not a good place to live. Perhaps these cloistered individuals would benefit from a trip to this invigorated area, where rich neighborhoods are springing up around all the marina activity and economic rebirth.
Besides the port area, where there are hundreds of private and commercial vessels along the docks, as well as a ferry to Nokonoshima, there is the Marina Town shopping center, a number of hotels (including the love kind), and other very nice stores and restaurants.
