Dolphin's Fountains

Dolphin's Fountains

Pl. Defilad, Warsaw, Poland

Walking around the Palace of Culture and Science, formerly called the Palace of Stalin, you will find a market that looks as if it was imported from somewhere in Asia, empty paved spaces deprived of trees around entries to the subway and four cast-iron fountains. The bowls of these fountains are held by dolphins that spit water onto children and dogs, who usually paddle in the lower reservoir. It's nice to sit down and splash in the water on a hot summer day and gaze up at the beautiful Palace of Culture.
