Die Stadt Hall in Tirol

The cultural city, situated approximately 10 km in the east of Innsbruck, is among the best kept historic old-cities of Austria. With its medieval, lovely restaurated facades of the bourgeois-houses and the pittoresk, narrow crooked alleys of the good kept old-city, Hall almost today gives pictures of its remarkable past. As lasting appreciation the city has been awarded the Austrian State-Award of Preservation of Monuments. Connected with the city-history is the time of the salt-mining and the minting, that has been transferred in 1477 from Meran to Hall in Tyrol. Beside the international cultural events, hospitalities, many historic sights, as for example the "Munzerturm" (mint-tower), the "Bergbaumuseum" (mining-museum), the gothic St. Niclas church or the "Damenstift Kloster Herz Jesu" (lady-convent cloister heart of Jesus), Hall in Tyrol offers itself as a manifold shopping-mekka, too.
