Parque Urbano de San Juan

Covering 135000 square metres, this is the second largest urban park in the whole of the Canary Islands. Since it was finished, it has become the symbol of Telde as a town for the 21st century. It has various areas: wooded slopes, the sculpture area devoted to Placido Fleitas, an artist from Telde, a cycle track, a children's playground, a games area, a lake around the San Juan cemetery, which for bureaucratic purposes remained inside the park, and a watchtower with a clock. However, the covered walkways, the special climbing-frame for practising this sport, the lawned areas, and the open-air auditorium where events and concerts are held, are the major features of the park.
