Silver Terrace CemeteryNorth E Street at Carson Street, Reno, NVTel: Not available The first burial took place at this site in 1860. Eleven of the Comstock's thirty-one cemeteries are located at this one location. Some of these eleven groups include the Masons, Oddfellows, Firemen and Catholics. Cemeteries during this era were considered good places to go for quiet contemplation, which made them the forerunners of municipal parks. You can see ornate fencing and hand-carved headstones depicting the life spans and of both the rich and poor who lived in this mining town.
