Lady Franklin Gallery

When Lady Franklin had this gallery built in 1842, she called it Ancanthe - Vale of Flowers. It is now considered to be Australia's oldest museum. To modern eyes a Greek temple in the midst of suburbia may look out of place, but a little imagination soon evokes the 19th century context with Mount Wellington towering behind. Nowadays, it is home to the Art Society of Tasmania and the high quality works on display are all for sale. Admission: Free.
