AlamedaAvenida Pino Suárez y Washington Poniente, Zona Centro, Monterrey, MexicoTel: s/t As part of a very old custom in Mexico, the alamedas (poplar-lined avenues/ parks) have been known for years as the center of social life in given town. In these parks, generally surrounded by public buildings and important cathedrals, the townsfolk meet to chat a while or rest a little from their daily activities. In Monterrey, the Alameda also provides refreshing shade on hot days and some typical civic and cultural events, organized mainly by the local government. In its gardens, you can find the Foreign Affairs office, where you can get your passport very easily and quickly.
