  • 20 words can't do it justice. Everything was great!
  • The only thing I can think of is, being an avid hunter, the hunting simulator wasn't working but trust me everything else made up for it! Again. Wow!

“One word can describe this. Wow! My wife, son, and I traveled to the Omaha area for a family members wedding and decided to stay at the Peter Kiewit lodge and what a right thing to do. It surpassed all of our expectations. From the appearance of the lodge and park, to the friendly staff, to all of the activities (which unfortunately we didn't get the chance to participate in all of them), to the restaurant, it was awesome! The 16 hour drive was well worth it! We did however get to play at the indoor playground, play mini-golf, and eat some very good grub (food). My son and I went for a little walk and saw about 15 deer, which he spotted first, being 6 years old. All he could say the night before we left was "I sure am going to miss this ole' place." the lodge room was incredible, everything was great! We have decided to try to return next year. Until then we will recommend this to all our fellow Texans. Thank you to all those who are involved with the Eugene t. Mahoney state park, for a great time!”

  • The water slides and swimming is great during the day, and the theatre is great at night. Lots to do!
  • The people who work in the administration building are rude at times, I guess because they are so busy and popular they don't have to work at it too hard.

“I can't say a single negative thing about Mahoney State Park, except that it should be bigger because it is so wonderful there is always a waiting list to get a good camping spot! If you don't live close by you can reserve space up to a year in advance. Yes... it's that great! We are lucky because we live in Southwest Omaha, and it is only a 15 minute drive down the interstate. There is something for everyone. The main attraction is the water park, which is a complete blast for kids and adults! The kids love the paddle boats, and when it's really hot and you want to chill you can go to the craft center and paint ceramics or many other things.

There is soooo much to do at this park you really need a week to experience it all. It's more like a resort. There is a restaurant/buffet in the lodge, and hotel type rooms if you are not the 'camping' type. There's fishing, golf, archery, mini golf, horseback riding, a large look out tower, tennis, conservatory, and the theatre with the live shows is the best!!! You are encouraged to throw popcorn at the villains in the play! Everyone will be roaring and ready to come back again. We had a family reunion here at this park a few years ago that included 25 people. We reserved a sheltered picnic area, and had it catered, and the food was very good and reasonably priced. ”

  • Clean cabins, Serene, and relaxing atmosphere
  • It is hilly. And the cabins are very plainly decorated.

“For the past 3 years my husband's family have made this an annual tradition. Our immediate family members are now about 40 people. We rent 4 cabins and stay 4-5 days. Between 2 cabins are screened in porches where the teens like to hang out at night and play board games. We use this area to eat in. The park is a hilly area though but it is wheelchair friendly. It is great! There is an ice cream shop, feed the ducks area, pond with paddle boats, archery, large swimming pool, and a creativity center where our younger children like to go make nature things.

Closeby is Platte River State Park that has a huge lodge and more attractions like horses, theatre, and a water park. There is an aviation historial site museum to tour close as well. This is a great park to have a good time at. Very serene, clean, and relaxing. I recemmend it to anyone!”
