The Nishitetsu Company offers a number of luxury cruises around Hakata bay through its subsidiary company, Mariera. Well known throughout the Fukuoka area, these cruises circle Hakata bay, or even travel around Nokonoshima Island. There are different types of cruises around the year, some coinciding with special events--like the Momochi fireworks festival--but not all are outrageously priced. For simple deck seats in the sun and a beer, you will pay as little as JPY3,000. Other packages can cost close to JPY20,000. There are discounts for children. Ships leave from Bayside Place.
